The American President, Donald Trump announced in a statement to the American Congress about the matter of family of the late Colonel Mu‘ammar al-Qaddāfī in Libya that they are once again sanctioned. In details Trump decided in his speech to the Congress to extend the executed sanctions upon the family of al-Qaddāfī and their partners to yet another year. This is in order to prevent the transition “the foundations of the country, as the Americans president views that the situation in Libya still poses an abnormal and unnatural threat to the national security and the foreign policy of the United States, pointing out that his country still needs to protect the transition of the foundations or otherwise by the malpractices of individuals causing problems to the Libyan national interests. Including in this the family of Mu‘ammar al-Qaddāfī and their partners”, according to his words. He continued that it is imperative to prolong the national emergency about Libya, and also the sanctions on Libya to prevent the further shaking of the stability there.

خاطب الرئيس الأميركي، دونالد ترمب، الكونغرس الأميركي، بشأن عائلة العقيد الراحل معمر القذافي في ليبيا لمعاقبتهم مجددا. في التفاصيل، قرر ترمب في خطابه إلى الكونغرس تمديد العقوبات المفروضة على عائلة القذافي وشركائه عاما إضافيا، وذلك من أجل منع تحويل”أصول البلاد كما اعتبر الرئيس الأميركي أن الوضع في ليبيا ما زال يشكل تهديدا غير عادي، وغير طبيعي بالنسبة للأمن القومي والسياسة الخارجية للولايات المتحدة الأميركية، مشيرا إلى أن بلاده بحاجة إلى حماية تحويل الأصول أو غيرها من الإساءات من قبل أشخاص يعيقون المصالحة الوطنية الليبية، بما في ذلك عائلة العقيد معمر القذافي وشركاؤه، بحسب تعبيره. وتابع أنه من الضروري مواصلة حالة الطوارئ الوطنية فيما يتعلق بليبيا، كما أن العقوبات المفروضة على ليبيا جاءت لمنع المزيد من زعزعة الاستقرار فيها
