The official spokesman of the Libyan Presidential Council confirms that the council suspended Foreign Minister Nağlā’ al-Manqūš from her work, so to investigate what was attributed to her as administrative misdeeds.
Official spokesman of the Libyan Presidential Council Nağwa Wahība confirms today, on Saturday that the council suspended Foreign Minister Nağlā’ al-Manqūš in her work, ordered investigation against her and prohibited her to travel.

Wahība mentioned that the council took its decision for “al-Manqūš acting alone in the foreign policy without any coordination and breaching the political settlement”.
In the statement of the Libyan Presidential Council it was stated that an investigative committee will be formed to question al-Manqūš being suspended now, and the committee has to give a decision within 14 day at the most.
This decision came after the name of a former Libyan intelligence operative’s name, Abū ‘Ağīla Mas‘ūd’s surfaced again, following Tripoli’s announcement that it is ready to hand him over to the United States upon accusations of his involvement in the bombing of an American airplane above Lockerbie in Scotland in 1988.
Libyan Foreign Minister Nağlā al-Manqūš said that the government wishes to cooperate with the
United States of America to hand over the person being wanted in the Lockerbie case.
The minister added an interview with “BBC” on Wednesday that the Libyan government understands the pain of the victims’ families in the incident and their sorrow, but the law should be respected, according to her expressions.
Experts of the Libyan affairs went as far to say that the step of al-Manqūš came as a deal, which will imply the handover of Abū ‘Ağīla, for in exchange getting a green light for the government of ad-Dabība to go on. What would come after that is that Washington would grant new compensations, follow the compensations the victims’ families had received when the Lockerbie case was closed two and a half decades ago.

أعلنت المتحدثة باسم المجلس الرئاسي الليبي، نجوى وهيبة، اليوم السبت، أن المجلس الرئاسي أوقف وزيرة الخارجية نجلاء المنقوش احتياطياً، وأحالها على التحقيق، ومنعها من السفر
وذكرت وهيبة أن المجلس اتخذ قراره بسبب “انفراد المنقوش بالسياسة الخارجية من دون التنسيق معه، في مخالفة للاتفاق السياسي
وجاء في بيان للمجلس الرئاسي الليبي أنه سيتم تشكيل لجنة تحقيق مع المنقوش الموقوفة احتياطياً، على أن تقدّم اللجنة تقريراً في أَجَل أقصاه 14 يوماً من تاريخ صدور القرار
وجاء هذا القرار بعد عودة اسم مسؤول المخابرات الليبي السابق، أبو عجيلة مسعود، ليطفو على السطح من جديد، بعد إعلان طرابلس استعدادها لتسليمه إلى الولايات المتحدة على خلفية تهم بتورطه في تفجير طائرة أميركية فوق لوكربي الإسكتلندية عام 1988
وقالت وزيرة الخارجية الليبية نجلاء المنقوش، إن الحكومة تنوي التعاون مع الولايات المتحدة الأميركية لتسليم المطلوب في قضية لوكرب
وأضافت الوزيرة، في مقابلة مع “بي بي سي” يوم الأربعاء، أن الحكومة الليبية تتفهم ألم أُسَر ضحايا الحادث وحزنها، لكنها في حاجة إلى احترام القوانين، وفق تعبيرها.
وذهب مراقبون للشأن الليبي إلى وصف خطوة المنقوش بالصفقة التي سيتم بموجبها تسليم بوعجيلة في مقابل إعطاء الضوء الأخضر لحكومة الدبيبة بالتمديد، وما يستتبع ذلك من منح واشنطن تعويضات جديدة، خلافاً للتعويضات التي استلمتها أُسَر الضحايا عند إغلاق ملف لوكربي قبل عقدين ونيف
