Iranian ambassador to Baghdad Īrağ Masğedī says that his country “will absolutely not make concessions about its security”, and confirms that Tehran has warned the officials in the Iraqi Kurdistan region many times”.
Iranian ambassador to Baghdad Īrağ Masğedī confirmed on Monday that the missiles attack, which was carried out by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards in Irbīl “did not target the sovereignty of Iraq, rather the spy base belonging to the Mossad”, thus calling upon “the Iraqi government to put a limit to the malicious movements of Israel in the region”.
The Iranian ambassador in Baghdad said that “the Americans founded the Zionist base in the Iraqi Kurdistan region, so that they would take it over as a base for operations against the security of Iran”.
Masğedī said that his country “will absolutely not compromise on its security and had warned the officials in the Iraqi Kurdistan region, but unfortunately they got themselves involved with this base in the operations breaching out security”. Thus underlining that “Iran gave an answer to that”.
Masğedī also explained that “the missiles attack, which was carried out by the Revolutionary Giards in Irbīl did not target the Americans”. Thus pointing out that “the struggle between Iran and the United States is ongoing for 40 years, but this operation is not connected to the Americans in any ways, nor to Washington’s embassy or consulate”.
The Iraqi government on Sunday requested explanation through diplomatic channels from Iran about the attack that was launched from Iranian territories against the Israeli base in Iraqi Kurdistan region, as it also summoned the Iranian ambassador in Baghdad about the same matter.
It should be mentioned that the Iranian Revolutionary Guards announced on Sunday that it targeted “a spy center of the Zionist conspiracies” in Northern Iraq by the “strong and precise missiles”.
The Revolutionary Guards said in a statement: “the bombardment came as a response o the latest crime committed by the vicious Zionist Entity”. Thus confirming that the security and stability of the country constitute a “red line”.
Sources revealed for al-Mayadeen that the attack was carried out by more than precision ballistic 10 missiles successfully targeting the an Israeli security and intelligence station around Irbīl.

السفير الإيراني لدى بغداد، إيرج مسجدي، يقول إن بلاده “لن تساوم على أمنها إطلاقاً”، ويؤكد أن طهران سبق وحذّرت مراراً المسؤولين في إقليم كردستان – العراق
أكد السفير الإيراني في بغداد، إيرج مسجدي، اليوم الإثنين، أنّ الهجوم الصاروخي الذي نفذه حرس الثورة الإيرانية في أربيل،”لم يستهدف السيادة العراقية بل “قاعدة التجسس التابعة للموساد”، داعياً “الحكومة العراقية إلى وضع حد لتحركات إسرائيل الشريرة في المنطقة”.
وقال السفير الإيراني في بغداد إنّ “الأميركيين أسسوا قاعدة للصهاينة في إقليم كردستان العراق، ليتخذوا منه مقراً لتنفيذ عمليات ضد أمن إيران”.
وأضاف مسجدي أنّ بلاده “لن تساوم على أمنها إطلاقاً، وقد سبق أن حذّرنا مراراً المسؤولين في الإقليم، لكن للأسف تورطت هذه القاعدة في عمليات لانتهاك أمننا”، مشدداً على أن “إيران قامت بالرّد على ذلك”.
كما أوضح مسجدي أيضاً أنّ “الهجوم الصاروخي الذي نفذه حرس الثورة في أربيل، لم يستهدف الأميركيين”، مبيناً أنّ “الصراع بين إيران والولايات المتحد قائم على مدى 40 عاماً، لكن هذه العملية لا تربطها أي صلة بالأميركيين ولا بسفارة واشنطن أو قنصليتها”.
وطلبت الحكومة العراقية، أمس الأحد، توضيحات عبر المنافذ الدبلوماسية من إيران بشأن الهجوم الذي انطلق من الأراضي الإيرانية على قاعدة إسرائيلية في إقليم كردستان العراق، كما استدعت السفير الإيراني لدى بغداد بسبب نفس الأمر.
يذكر أنّ حرس الثورة الإيرانية، أعلن يوم أمس الأحد، أنّه استهدف “مركزاً استراتيجياً للمؤامرات الصهيونية” في شمال العراق بالصواريخ، باستخدام “صواريخ قوية ودقيقة”.
وقال حرس الثورة، في بيان: “القصف جاء رداً على الجرائم الأخيرة التي ارتكبها الكيان الصهيوني المزيف”، مؤكداً أنّ أمن البلاد واستقرارها هما “خط أحمر”.
وكشفت مصادر للميادين أنّ الهجوم جرى بأكثر من 10 صواريخ باليستية دقيقية نجحت في استهداف مقر استخباري وأمني إسرائيلي في محيط أربيل
