Emirati Foreign Minister ‘Abd Allah ibn Zāyid visits Moscow and offers mediation between Russia and Ukraine. He added that his country is looking forward expanding the horizons of cooperation with Russia on the field of energy.
Emirati Foreign Minister ‘Abd Allah ibn Zāyid expressed the readiness of his country to reach out to all parties with the aim to reach a ceasefire between the Russian and Ukrainian sides.
In a press conference held in Moscow with his Russian colleague Sergei Lavrov Ibn Zāyid confirmed that the Emirates is fully ready to “support all efforts to find a peaceful solution to the Ukrainian conflict”.
The Emirati minister said: “during the meeting the matter of the Ukrainian events was discussed and it was agreed to increase the efforts to reach a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine, while on the other hand Lavrov expressed the content of his country about the Emirates for taking a balanced approach towards Ukraine”. Thus pointing out at the same time that most of those, who were extracted from the city of Mariupol chose to head to Russia.
About the matter of energy the Emirati Foreign Minister confirmed that there is an agreement with Moscow about the energy price policy and there “there is a need to continue the contacts and cooperation within the current circumstances”. Thus confirming that the Emirates is looking forward expanding the fields of cooperation with Russia, including amongst them the energy and other fields.
The Emirati minister explained: “the matter of supplying hydrocarbons and other commodities was discussed”. He pointed out that his country is looking forward expanding the horizons of cooperation and partnership with Russia on various levels, including the field of energy.
The negotiations about the matters energy and the Ukrainian crisis was also in the agenda of the visit by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson to the Emirates yesterday, as Johnson and Abū Zabī Crown Prince aš-Šayh Muḥammad ibn Zāyid discussed the possibilities to strengthening the cooperation between Great Britain and the Emirates on the fields of energy security, green energy and trade.
Johnson hopes to convince Saudi Arabia and the Emirates to increase the oil production to decrease the consequences of the economic sanctions imposed on Russia and on the global energy prices.
The price of the oil commodities increased after the sanctions, which were imposed by the Western states on Russia, as the price of natural gas in the beginning of this month reached historic records. The price of crude Brent also increased to the level of $130 per barrel. This is the highest price for the last 14 years, before it started to fall back again.

وزير الخارجية الإماراتي عبد الله بن زايد يزور موسكو ويعرض الوساطة بين روسيا وأوكرانيا، ويفيد بأنّ بلاده تتطلع إلى توسيع آفاق التعاون مع روسيا في مجال الطاقة
أبدى وزير خارجية الإمارات عبد الله بن زايد استعداد بلاده للتواصل مع جميع الأطراف بهدف التوصل إلى وقف إطلاق النار بين الجانبين الروسي والأوكراني.
وأكّد ابن زايد في مؤتمر صحافي من موسكو مع نظيره الروسي سيرغي لافروف، أنّ الإمارات على استعداد تام “لدعم كافة الجهود لإيجاد حل سلمي للنزاع في أوكرانيا”.
وقال الوزير الإمارتي: “تمّ في الاجتماع منافشة قضية الأحداث في أوكرانيا، وتم التوافق على تكثيف الجهود للوصول إلى الحل السلمي للنزاع في أوكرانيا، في المقابل أعرب لافروف عن امتنان بلاده للإمارات على موقفها المتوازن تجاه أوكرانيا”، مشيراً في الوقت عينه إلى أنّ معظم من تم إخراجه من مدينة ماريوبول اختاروا القدوم إلى روسيا.
وعن ملف الطاقة، أكّد وزير خارجية الإمارات أنّ هناك توافق مع موسكو بشأن سياسة أسعار الطاقة، وأنّ “هناك ضرورة ملحة للتواصل والتنسيق في ظل الظروف الحالية”، مؤكداً أنّ الإمارات تتطلع لتوسيع مجالات التعاون مع روسيا بما فيها الطاقة والمجالات الأخرى.
وأوضح الوزير الإماراتي: “تمّت مناقشة قضية توريد الهيدروكربونات والحاجات الأخرى”، مشيراً إلى أنّ بلاده تتطلع إلى توسيع آفاق التعاون والشراكة مع روسيا على مختلف الصعد، لا سيما في مجال الطاقة.
البحث بشأن الطاقة والأزمة الأوكرانية كان أيضاً عنوان زيارة رئيس الوزراء البريطاني بوريس جونسون إلى الإمارات أمس،حيث بحث جونسون وولي عهد أبو ظبي الشيخ محمد بن زايد، فرص تعزيز التعاون بين بريطانيا والإمارات في مجالات أمن الطاقة والتكنولوجيا الخضراء والتجارة.
ويأمل جونسون أن ينجح في إقناع السعودية والإمارات بزيادة إنتاج النفط لتخفيف تداعيات العقوبات الاقتصادية المفروضة على موسكو، على أسعار الطاقة العالمية.
وارتفعت أسعار مصادر الطاقة، بعد العقوبات التي فرضتها الدول الغربية على روسيا، حيث سجّلت أسعار الغاز، مطلع الشهر الحالي، أعلى مستوياتها في التاريخ. كما ارتفع خام برنت إلى حدود 130 دولاراً للبرميل، وهو أعلى سعر يسجله في 14 عاماً، قبل أن يعود إلى الانخفاض
