Eleven members of the Popular Mobilization [al-Ḥašd aš-Ša‘bī] forces met martyrdom while fending off the attack the terrorists of the Wahhābī Dā‘iš organization launched in the province of Ṣalāḥ ad-Dīn.

Terrorism raised its head again in Iraq. This is the second terrorist attack carried out by the Dā‘iš terrorist group only 48 hours after the twin blasts in downtown Baghdad, which claimed the lives of more than thirty people. Yet this time it faced an armed human defense, and it was blocked not to reach the people of the region.
This was confirmed by the Iraqi Joint Operations Command in one of its announcements, in which it mourned the death and injury of twenty troops within the al-Ḥašd aš-Ša‘bī forces. One of them was the commander Abū ‘Ulayā’ al-Ḥasnāwī following a suicide attack by the troops of Dā‘iš trying to take hold of the 22nd al-Ḥašd aš-Ša‘bī Battalion headquarters situated in ad-Dūr county east of Tikrīt in the province of Ṣalāḥ ad-Dīn, north of Baghdad.
Abū ‘Ulayā’ fell leading the third unit of the 22nd Battalion during an ambush led by the terrorists of Dā‘iš while they were being repelled. This happened after a suicide attack by Dā‘iš to take hold of the important security position east of the city of Tikrit.
Security sources said that twenty terrorists died during the clashes, while the rest was forced to flee.
The official spokesman of the Commander of the Armed Forces Major General Yaḥyā Rasūl confirmed that punishment will surely come upon those who carried out the last attack against Ṣalāḥ ad-Dīn.
The terrorist attacks raised many question marks why they returned exactly in this time. Iraqi strategic researcher Atīr aš-Šara‘ said: “with the escalation calls to expel the American and foreign troops from Iraq and to execute the decree of the parliament the decision for the attack might have come from abroad divide the security forces and increase the attacks so there would be an excuse to prolong the presence of the foreign and American troops in Iraq”.
As for the Iraqi government, it confirmed that these attacks are only the result of security gaps within the lines of the security forces without revealing the nature of these. Prime Minister Muṣṭafā al-Kāẓimī, who removed five senior security and army commanders following the attack on Baghdad promised not to allow the suicide attacks to be repeated. Thus confirming that security gaps allowed the attack on Baghdad.

استشهد أحد عشر عنصرا من قوات الحشد الشعبي خلال تصديهم لهجوم شنه ارهابيو جماعة “داعش” الوهابية في محافظة صلاح الدين
الارهاب يطل براسه من جديد في العراق. هجوم ارهابي ثان نفذته جماعة داعش الارهابية بعد ثمانية واربعين ساعة من التفجير المزدوج في وسط بغداد والذي اودى بحياة اكثر من ثلاثين شخصا. الا انها واجهت هذه المرة دروعا بشرية مسلحة، حالت دون وصولها الى ابناء المنطقة
هذا ما اكدته قيادة العمليات المشركة العراقية في بيان لها، نعت فيه استشهاد واصابة عشرين عنصرا من قوات الحشد الشعبي بينهم القيادي ابو علياء الحسناوي، عقب هجوم انتحاري، نفذه عناصر من “داعش”، للسيطرة على مقر اللواء اثنين وعشرين من الحشد الشعبي الواقع جنوب قضاء الدور شرقي تكريت بمحافظة صلاح الدين شمال العاصمة بغداد
واستشهد ابوعلياء آمر الفوج الثالث باللواء اثنين وعشرين وعشرة من رفاقه خلال كمين نصبه ارهابيو “داعش” اثناء مطاردته لهم عقب هجوم داعش الانتحاري للسيطرة على مواقع امنية مهمة شرقي مدينة تكريت
وقالت مصادر امنية ان عشرين ارهابيا قتل خلال المواجهات واجبر الباقين على الفرار
من جهته اكد الناطق باسم القائد العام للقوات المسلحة اللواء يحيى رسول، إن القصاص قادم لا محالة لمنفذي هجوم صلاح الدين الأخير
هجمات ارهابية اثارت علامات استفهام عديدة لدلالات عودته في هذا التوقيت
وقال الباحث في الشؤون الاستراتيجية العراقي اثير الشرع: “مع تصاعد المطالبات باخراج القوات الامريكية والاجنبية من العراق وتنفيذ القرار البرلماني ربما يكون قرار الهجوم خارجي بعدم استتباب الامن وزيادة الهجمات لكي تكون ذريعة لتواصل وجود القوات الاجنبية والامريكية داخل العراق
اما الحكومة العراقية بدورها فقد اكدت ان الهجمات هي ليست الا نتيجة وجود خلل امني في صفوف القوات الامنية من دون ان توضح طبيعة ذلك. وتعهد رئيس الوزراء مصطفى الكاظمي الذي اقال خمسة من كبار قادة الامن و الجيش على خلفية هجوم بغداد، بعدم السماح لتكرار الهجمات الانتحارية، مؤكدا أن خللا أمنيا سمح بهجوم بغداد
