Director of the Shabak Service David Zini met former leadership member of the Fataḥ Movement Muḥammad Daḥlān in Abū Zabī during his latest meeting, to discuss the arrangements of the future political and security scene in the Gaza Strip. This is according to what the Israeli public broadcast service reported.

On his behalf Daḥlān announced in his media statements that he refused to take over “any security, or executive, or ministerial post”, instead claiming calling for “putting together an international and applicable work plan that would lead to setting up an independent Palestinian state”.

It is interesting to note that Daḥlān has been living in the Emirates for years after he left the Palestinian lands, knowing that he had worked before on the post of the Commander of the Preventive Security Service in the Gaza Strip.

These steps came at a time when international press reports, including what the Wall Street Journal had published, point out that officials in the United States, “Israel” and Arab states are suggesting the name of Daḥlān as “a leading candidate to administer the strip during the after-war period”.

Political movements in the Emirates… with a focus on Israeli personalities

In the same context, Abū Zabī is witnessing increasing political activity, as reports have revealed previous meetings including Israeli personalities, among them former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.

Director of the Mossad David Barnea also had recurring secret visits to the Emirates during the recent period to strengthen “the joint security cooperation”.

The visit by the Director of the Shabak Service comes within the context of “arranging security and strategic relations” between the Emirates and “Israel” and according to the Israeli media to discuss “the regional arrangements” in light of the current developments and the surrounding challenges in the region.

التقى رئيس جهاز “الشاباك” دافيد زيني القيادي السابق في حركة “فتح” محمد دحلان في أبو ظبي، خلال زيارته الأخيرة، لبحث ترتيبات المشهد السياسي والأمني المستقبلي في قطاع غزة، بحسب ما نقلت هيئة البثّ العامّ الإسرائيلية.

من جانبه، أعلن دحلان في تصريحات إعلامية رفضه تولّي أيّ “منصب أمني أو تنفيذي أو وزاري”، داعياً بدلاً من ذلك إلى “صياغة خطة عمل دولية واقعية وقابلة للتطبيق تفضي إلى إقامة دولة فلسطينية مستقلة”.

والجدير بالذكر أنّ دحلان يقيم في الإمارات منذ سنوات بعد مغادرته الأراضي الفلسطينية، علماً بأنه شغل سابقاً منصب قائد جهاز الأمن الوقائي في القطاع

وتأتي هذه التحرّكات في وقت تشير تقارير صحفية دولية، ومنها ما نشرته صحيفة “وول ستريت جورنال”، إلى أنّ مسؤولين من الولايات المتحدة و”إسرائيل” ودول عربية يطرحون اسم دحلان بوصفه “مرشّحاً بارزاً لإدارة القطاع في مرحلة ما بعد الحرب”.

حراك سياسي في الإمارات.. محوره شخصيات إسرائيلية

وفي السياق ذاته، تشهد أبو ظبي حراكاً سياسياً متزايداً، إذ كشفت التقارير عن لقاءات سابقة ضمّت شخصيات إسرائيلية، من بينها رئيس الحكومة الأسبق إيهود أولمرت. 

كما أجرى رئيس جهاز الموساد دافيد برنياع زيارات سرية متكرّرة إلى الإمارات خلال الفترة الماضية لتعزيز “التنسيق الأمني المشترك”.

وتندرج زيارة رئيس “الشاباك” في إطار “توطيد العلاقات الأمنية والاستراتيجية” بين الإمارات و”إسرائيل”، بحسب الإعلام الإسرائيلي، ومناقشة “الترتيبات الإقليمية” في ظلّ التطوّرات الراهنة والتحدّيات المحيطة بالمنطقة
