A diplomatic source in Islamabad told the Iranian IRNA news agency that Commander of the Pakistani Army Field Marshal ‘Āṣim Munīr left Islamabad on Monday heading to Tehran in the company of the Pakistan Interior Minister Muḥsin-Reẓā Naqawī in a visit, during which he will meet top officials of the Islamic Republic. All this within the frame of an attempt to enhance cooperation between the two states and to discuss the developments of the region.
Tehran: the relations with Islamabad are in their best period
Officials spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Esmā‘īl Baqā’ī earlier on Monday had stated that relations between Iran and Pakistan “are going through one of their best periods”, confirming that the two sides are determined to continue expanding them and to strengthen the cooperation between them.
The visit by the Commander of the Pakistani Army comes in light of the continued diplomatic efforts taken by Islamabad to solidify peace and security in the region.
The Foreign Minister of Oman is in Tehran on Tuesday
In the same context, on Monday Baqā’ī announced that Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Būsa‘īdī will visit Tehran on Tuesday in the frame of continued negotiations about the Strait of Hormuz, aside from addressing bilateral and regional matter and discussing them.
Baqā’ī pointed out that the visit by al-Būsa‘īdī will also come within the efforts to enhance the bilateral cooperation between Iran and the Sultanate of Oman.
Baqā’ī confirmed that the visit of the Omani Foreign Minister is not connected to the visit of the Commander of the Pakistani Army, pointing out that the common timing of the two is purely a coincidence.
He explained that the negotiations with the Omani side will address the bilateral ties, in addition to the matters concerning the security of the Strait of Hormuz and the crossing pathways.
These diplomatic steps come after the negotiations between the Sultanate of Oman and Iran about maritime arrangements in the Strait of Hormuz have reached an advanced stage. These also come in light continuing regional connections about the maritime security and the crossing pathways in the Strait.
The Iranian side had underlined before that reaching an understanding between Tehran and Muscat about the maritime arrangements does not mean the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, confirming that its opening requires Washington complying with what is there in the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
The Pakistani and the Omani visits reflect the intense diplomatic moves around Iran, especially concerning the security of the Strait of Hormuz, while at the same time Tehran intends to enhance its relations with the states of the region and to expand the political, economic and security cooperation channels.

أفاد مصدر دبلوماسي في إسلام آباد، لوكالة الأنباء الإيرانية “إرنا”، بأنّ قائد الجيش الباكستاني المشير عاصم منير غادر إسلام آباد اليوم الاثنين متوجّهاً إلى طهران، برفقة وزير الداخلية الباكستاني محسن رضا نقوي، في زيارة يلتقي خلالها كبار المسؤولين في الجمهورية الإسلامية، وذلك في إطار مساعي تعزيز التعاون بين البلدين ومناقشة تطورات المنطقة.
طهران: العلاقات مع إسلام آباد في أفضل مراحلها
وقال المتحدّث باسم وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية إسماعيل بقائي في وقت سابق اليوم إنّ العلاقات بين إيران وباكستان “تمرّ بواحدة من أفضل مراحلها”، مؤكّداً أنّ الجانبين عازمان على مواصلة توسيعها وتعزيز التعاون بينهما.
وتأتي زيارة قائد الجيش الباكستاني في ظلّ استمرار المساعي الدبلوماسية التي تبذلها إسلام آباد لترسيخ السلام والأمن في المنطقة.
وزير الخارجية العُماني في طهران غداً
وفي سياق متصل، أعلن بقائي، اليوم الاثنين، أنّ وزير الخارجية العُماني بدر البوسعيدي سيزور طهران غداً الثلاثاء، موضحاً أنّ الزيارة تأتي في إطار استمرار المحادثات بشأن مضيق هرمز، إلى جانب بحث القضايا الثنائية والإقليمية والتشاور بشأنها.
وأشار بقائي إلى أنّ زيارة البوسعيدي تندرج كذلك ضمن جهود تعزيز التعاون الثنائي بين إيران وسلطنة عُمان.
وأكّد بقائي أنّ زيارة وزير الخارجية العُماني لا ترتبط بزيارة قائد الجيش الباكستاني، مشيراً إلى أنّ تزامنهما من الناحية الزمنية كان محض مصادفة.
وأوضح أنّ المحادثات مع الجانب العُماني ستتناول العلاقات الثنائية، إلى جانب الملفات المرتبطة بأمن مضيق هرمز وطرق العبور
وتأتي هذه التحرّكات الدبلوماسية بعد وصول المحادثات بين سلطنة عُمان وإيران بشأن ترتيبات الملاحة في مضيق هرمز إلى مرحلة متقدّمة، في ظلّ استمرار الاتصالات الإقليمية بشأن أمن الملاحة وطرق العبور في المضيق.
وكان الجانب الإيراني قد شدّد في وقت سابق على أنّ التوصّل إلى اتفاق بين طهران ومسقط بشأن ترتيبات الملاحة لا يعني إعادة فتح مضيق هرمز، مؤكداً أنّ فتحه يتطلّب التزام واشنطن بما ورد في مذكرة تفاهم إسلام آباد.
