The American Central Command says that an American “F-15” type visual reconnaissance on an Iranian airplane in the are of at-Tanaf.
The American Central Command announced that an “F15” type warplane was on a normal mission around the at-Tanaf military base at the time when the Iranian civil airplane was spotted there in the same area.
The spokesman of the American Central Command said that monitoring happened “to assure the safety of the Coalition troops in the at-Tanaf Base”. Adding that “as soon it was identified that plane is a civil airliner the fighter withdrew to a far distance from it”.
Syrian security sources reported to al-Mayadeen that two American warplanes confronted an Iranian civil plane heading from Tehran to Beirut in Syrian space above the triple point at at-Tanaf in the vicinity of the Iraqi and the Jordanian border.
The security sources confirmed that the two American fighters were harassing the Iranian plane, which forced its pilot to evade, which lead to a number of injuries of those on board. Then the plane continued its path to Beirut after which it left to Tehran.
On its own term, the spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry ‘Abbās Mūsavī said that the details of the Iranian plane’s incident is still under investigation, expressing that his country will take the necessary political and legal steps after all information is gathered.
Musāvī pointed out that the Iranian envoy to the U.N. informed the Secretary-General Antonio Guterres that the United States is responsible for the incident.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry sent the same message to the Swiss ambassador in Tehran.

أعلنت قيادة القوات المركزية الأميركية، أن طائرة حربية من طراز “f15” كانت في مهمة عادية في محيط قاعدة التنف العسكرية في الوقت الذي شوهدت فيه الطائرة المدنية الإيرانية في المنطقة نفسها
المتحدث باسم قيادة القوات المركزية الأميركية قال إن الرقابة جرت من “أجل ضمان سلامة قوات التحالف في قاعدة التنف”، مضيفاً أنه “بمجرد ما تم التعرف إلى طائرة الركّاب المدنية انسحبت المقاتلة إلى مسافة بعيدة عنها”
وكانت مصادر أمنية سورية أفادت الميادين باعتراض طائرتين حربيتين أميركيتين طائرة مدنيّة إيرانيّة كانت متجهة من طهران إلى بيروت، في الأجواء السوريّة فوق مثلث التنف القريب من الحدود العراقية والأردنية
وأكد المصدر الأمني أن المُقاتلتين الأميركيتين حاصرتا الطائرة الإيرانيّة، ما أجبر قائدها على الانخفاض الأمر الذي أدّى إلى وقوع عدد من الإصابات على متنها وقد تابعت الطائرة مسارها إلى بيروت لتغادر بعدها إلى طهران
من جهته، قال المتحدث باسم الخارجية الايرانية عباس موسوي، إن تفاصيل حادثة الطائرة الإيرانية ما زالت قيد التحقيق معتبراً أن بلاده ستتخذ الخطوات السياسية والقانونية اللازمة بعد استكمال المعلومات
وأشار موسوي، إلى أن سفير إيران في الأممِ المتحدة أبلغ أمينها العام أنطونيو غوتيريش، أن الولايات المتحدة مسؤولة عن الحادث
كما أبلغت الخارجية الإيرانية الرسالة نفسها إلى سفير سويسرا في طهران
