4 October
Algerian President ‘Abd al-Mağīd Tabbūn announced that his country is ready for any mediation in the Strait of Hormuz, pointing out that the Algerian ships cross it, “because we are peaceful”.
Tabbūn confirmed that Algeria has no problems with any sides and said: “Whoever creates problems with us will not succeed, because we are not part of the Strait of Hormuz equation”.
In the same context official spokesman of the Iranian Consultative Council’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Ḥasan Qašqāwī said that the ships of the Occupation and the enemy states cannot cross, nor the ships that have carried out military operations against Iran, or carry military cargo.
In the same time Qašqāwī confirmed that the ships of the non-aggressive states will be able to obtain a permission from the Iranian Armed Forces Command following the arrangements that are stipulated by the law.
On another matter, Tabbūn states that “the Emirates supports rebels and mercenaries”, confirming that “the land of martyrs is not for sale”.
On 10 September Algeria cut its diplomatic ties with the State of the Emirates after years of tensions between the two states, especially with Tabbūn accusing Abū Zabī with interfering in his country’s internal affairs.
