Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Fayṣal al-Miqdād confirms to al-Mayadeen that his country stands by Lebanon, and the Syrian ambassador in Beirut says to al-Mayadeen that the stability of Lebanon is reflected in Syria and even the damaged, that was inflicted upon Lebanon reach up to Syria.
Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Fayṣal al-Miqdād said that “what happened in Beirut is a real tragedy”, confirming that his country stands by Lebanon.
Al-Miqdād added to al-Mayadeen that “how could a brother turn his back on his brother, especially in crises? This event calls for big Arab solidarity.” He pointed out that “Syria strongly and effectively stands by Lebanon. This is what Syrian President Baššār al-Asad and Foreign Minister Walīd Mu‘allim have expressed”.
Al-Miqdād clarified that the Syrian embassy in Beirut “currently studies what can Damascus provide to Beirut without delay”, wishing that frank and real results will come up from the investigations to know what happened. He said: “we will not slip on secondary polemics”.
Syrian ambassador to Lebanon ‘Alī ‘Abd al-Karīm ‘Alī confirmed to al-Mayadeen that the interest necessitates unity integrity between Syria and Lebanon.
‘Alī added that “the stability in Lebanon is reflected in Syria, and even the losses inflicted upon Lebanon reach up to Syria”. Pointing out that “if any responsible side in Lebanon initiates contact with Syria than the American pressure will decrease and won’t increase”.
‘Alī believed that “the integrity between Lebanon and Syria deflects the American, Israeli and other pressures, stressing that “Syria needs Lebanon, and Lebanon needs Syria. The American blockade is not inescapable”.
The Syrian ambassador in Lebanon expressed that “the tragedy, which happened in Lebanon will make many Lebanese officials take steps towards Syrian and turn to the East”.
The Syrian President sent a message to his Lebanese colleague Mīšāl ‘Awn yesterday, expressing his sorrow about the event that happened in the Beirut port.
Al-Asad confirmed that Syria stands by Lebanon and supports its people of resistance, confirming his trust that Beirut is capable to overcome the ruins of this tragic incident.
Yesterday a huge explosion happened as a result of a fire in storage for “ammonium-nitrate” in Beirut port. That was heard all around the capital and its suburbs, all the way down to the south and some villages in the al-Biqā‘ [valley], which lead to the complete destruction of the port and tens of close by buildings. Also, many buildings in Beirut and the suburbs suffered heavy damages by the magnitude of the explosion.

نائب وزير الخارجية السوري فيصل المقداد يؤكد للميادين وقوف بلاده إلى جانب لبنان، والسفير السوري في لبنان يقول للميادين إن استقرار لبنان ينعكس على سوريا وحتى الخسائر التي تصيب لبنان تطال سوريا
قال نائب وزير الخارجية السوري، فيصل المقداد، إن “ما حدث في بيروت كارثة حقيقية”، مؤكداً وقوف بلاده إلى جانب لبنان
وأضاف المقداد للميادين، أنه “كيف يمكن للأخ أن ينأى عن أخيه خصوصا في الأزمات؟ وهذا الحدث يستدعي تضامناً عربياً كبيراً”، منوهاً إلى أن “سوريا تقف قولاً وفعلاً مع لبنان وهذا ما عبر عنه الرئيس السوري بشار الأسد ووزير الخارجية وليد المعلم
وأضح المقداد أن السفارة السورية في لبنان “تدرس حالياً ماذا يمكن لدمشق أن تقدم لبيروت من دعم إغاثي”، متمنياً أن يخرج التحقيق بنتائج شفافة وحقيقية لمعرفة ما جرى، وقال “لن ننزلق لمهاترات جانبية
بدوره، أكد السفير السوري في لبنان، علي عبد الكريم علي، للميادين أن التكامل بين سوريا ولبنان تفرضه المصلحة
وأضاف علي أن “استقرار لبنان ينعكس على سوريا وحتى الخسائر التي تصيب لبنان تطال سوريا”، مشيراً إلى أنه “إذا بادرت أي جهة مسؤولة في لبنان إلى التواصل مع سوريا فإن الضغط الأميركي سيتراجع ولن يزداد
واعتبر علي أن “التكامل بين لبنان سوريا يلجم الضغوط الأميركية والإسرائيلية وغيرها”، مشدداً على أن “سوريا بحاجة إلى لبنان، ولبنان بحاجة إلى سوريا، والحصار الأميركي ليس قدراً
ولفت السفير السوري في لبنان، إلى أن “الكارثة التي حلت بلبنان ستدفع كثير من المسؤولين اللبنانيين إلى اتخاذ خطوات نحو سوريا والتوجه شرقاً
وأبرق الرئيس السوري إلى نظيره اللبناني ميشال عون، يوم أمس، معرباً عن ألمه للحادث الذي وقع في مرفأ بيروت
وأكد الأسد وقوف سوريا إلى جانب لبنان وتضامنه مع شعبه المقاوم، مؤكداً ثقته بأن بيروت قادرة على تحاوز آثار هذا الحادث المأساوي
ووقع، يوم أمس، انفجار ضخم ناجم عن احتراق في مستودع لمواد “نترات الأمونيوم” في مرفأ بيروت، وسمع في كل العاصمة وضواحيها، وصولاً إلى الجنوب وبعض قرى البقاع، وأدى إلى تدمير المرفأ كلياً وعشرات المباني المحيطة، كما تضررت مبانٍ عدة في بيروت وضواحيها جرّاء شدة الانفجار
