The military court issued a death sentence over Prince “Fahd ibn Turkī ibn ‘Abd al-‘Azīz”, full brother of King Salmān and former commander of the Saudi forces in Yemen after the charge of “high treason”, according to the Washington Institute for (Persian) Gulf Studies

Prince “Fahd ibn Turkī” and his biggest son were detained last September. He is charged with organizing a coup overthrowing the government against King Salmān and his heir the Crown Prince, Muḥammad ibn Salmān.
The (Persian) Gulf Studies Institute mentioned that one of the relatives of the Saudi prince talked to them under the condition of anonymity and told them that the Saudi Military Tribunal took a decision on the former commander of the Saudi forces in the Yemeni war Prince Fahd ibn Turkī ibn ‘Abd al-‘Azīz ordering his execution “under the charge of treason and coup attempt to remove King Salmān and his heir Muḥammad ibn Salmān, who now holds the position of Minister of Defense and is the de facto ruler of the country”.
It was also reported in this context that Fahd ibn Turkī had been “detained in last September under the charge of corruption along with his eldest heir ‘Abd al-‘Azīz, who was the Deputy Governor of al-Ğawf province. Ibn Turkī, who joined the Saudi army in 1983, received training in special operations in the US and in the UK and was later appointed to the rank of General before being detained last year”.

وكان الأمير “فهد بن تركي” ونجله الأكبر قد اعتقلا في سبتمبر الماضي، وهو متهم بتنظيم انقلاب مناهض للحكومة ضد الملك سلمان ونجله ولي العهد، محمد بن سلمان
وذكر معهد شؤون الخليج (الفارسي) أن أحد أقارب الأمير السعودي، تحدث إليه، شريطة عدم الكشف عن هويته، وأبلغه بأن لجنة عسكرية سعودية حكمت على القائد السابق للقوات السعودية في حرب اليمن، الأمير فهد بن تركي بن عبد العزيز، بالإعدام “بتهمة الخيانة ومحاولة الانقلاب لعزل الملك سلمان ونجله محمد بن سلمان، الذي يشغل منصب وزير الدفاع والحاكم الفعلي للبلاد
وأفيد في هذا السياق بأن فهد بن تركي كان قد “اعتقل في سبتمبر الماضي بتهمة الفساد، مع نجله عبد العزيز، الذي كان نائب محافظ الجوف. وتلقى بن تركي، الذي انضم إلى الجيش السعودي عام 1983، تدريبات على العمليات الخاصة في الولايات المتحدة والمملكة المتحدة، وتمت ترقيته إلى رتبة جنرال قبل إقالته واعتقاله العام الماضي
