A high ranking source in the Lebanese army to the al-Mayadeen announced that 8 people got arrested, who belong to the Lebanese Forces Party.
A high ranking source in the Lebanese army announced to al-Mayadeen on Thursday that a number of members of the Lebanese Forces Party got arrested.
The source confirmed that the number of those arrested is 8, pouting out that there are amongst them who admitted preparing the events of aṭ-Ṭayūna.
In a statement published on Twitter the Lebanese army announced that it arrested nine people, including one Syrian after aggressive events, which had broken out in Beirut previously today.
The army pointed out that it will continue to be deployed in area of the aggressive events to prevent clashes breaking out.
6 martyrs have fallen and tens got wounded amongst peaceful protesters in the area of aṭ-Ṭayūna after fire was shot at them by snipers, who barricaded themselves in the rooftops of some buildings in the area of aṭ-Ṭayūna in Beirut.
Lebanese President Lieutenant General Mīšāl ‘Awn in speech criticized the “language of weapons” and vowed to account the responsible ones and those who prepared the killing. On the other hand Lebanese Prime Minister Nağīb Mīqātī on his behalf expressed his apologies. He also confirmed that he held a conversations with the Lebanese army, which reported the improvement of the security situation in the street, which witnessed the heinous acts today.

مصدر رفيع في الجيش اللبناني للميادين يعلن عن عن توقيف 8 أشخاص تابعين إلى حزب القوات اللبنانية.
أعلن مصدر رفيع في الجيش اللبناني للميادين، اليوم الخميس، عن توقيف عدد من عناصر حزب القوات اللبنانية.
وأكد المصدر أن عدد الموقوفين بلغ 8، لافتاً إلى أن منهم من اعترف بالتحضير لأحداث الطيونة.
وقال الجيش اللبناني في بيان نشره على “تويتر”، إنه أوقف تسعة أشخاص بينهم سوري بعد أحداث العنف التي اندلعت فى بيروت فى وقت سابق اليوم.
وأشار الجيش إلى أنه سيواصل انتشاره فى منطقة أحداث العنف لضمان عدم اندلاع اشتباكات.
وسقط 6 شهداء و عشرات الجرحى من المحتجين السلميين في منطقة الطيونة، في إثر إطلاق النار عليهم من قبل قنّاصين كانوا قد تحصنوا على أسطح بعض المباني في منطقة الطيونة ببيروت.
الرئيس اللبناني العماد ميشال عون، ندد في كلمة له بـ”لغة السلاح”، وتعهّد بمحاسبة المسؤولين والمحرّضين على القتل. أمّا رئيس الحكومة اللبنانية نجيب ميقاتي، قدم اعتذاره من جهته إلى اللبنانيين. وأكدّ على أنّه أجرى اتصالات مع الجيش اللبناني الذي أفاد بتحسن الوضع الأمني في الشارع الذي شهد الأحداث الأليمة اليوم.
