The deputy of al-Mahra Province’s governor reveals the presence of American and British forces at the international airport of al-Mahra and warns about the Yemeni American ambassador’s visit to the province.
The deputy of al-Mahra’s Province for juvenile matters Badr Kalašāt revealed that there are American and British forces present at the al-Ġayḍa international airport.
Kalašāt said that American ambassador to Yemen Cristopher Henzel has visited the headquarters of the American and British forces in the airport. Surprisingly the visit was at the same time as the 30th anniversary of the independence and the departure of the last British soldier from Yemen 53 years ago.
On his own terms director of the Peaceful Protest Committee in the Province of al-Mahra Sheikh ‘Āmir Kalašāt accused Saudi Arabia that it sent the American ambassador to Yemen there to talk about terrorism and to justify its presence there. Thus confirming the sudden appearance of the American ambassador in the al-Ġayḍa airport without previous announcement is a sort of occupation the Saudi ambassador is conducting in the province.
Director of the Protest in al-Mahra warned about new conspiracies committed against the province while the term of American president Donald Trump is coming to, pointing out that the crimes of Saudi Arabia in Yemen will not be forgotten with the lapse of time regardless its belief that the legality it enjoys will protect it from future legal prosecution.
On his own term as Director of the Strike Committee in the Freighter Directorate, Sheikh Ḥamīd Za‘bnūt said that the visit by Henzel presents dangerous precedence in the international relations, confirming that the behavior of (internationally recognized) Yemeni Presidency and its government, and its scandalous concessions about the national sovereignty is not acceptable.
In the same context activists on the social media believed that the visit of the American ambassador to the province of al-Mahra in the company of the Saudi ambassador to Yemen Muḥammad Āl Ğābir claimed to play the Saudi card and deception of fighting terrorism and smuggling, while this is only a justification for its presence in al-Mahra.
The visit by the American ambassador to the Province of al-Mahra caused a lot of questions, as it fell to the same time of the national celebrations of the liberty from the British occupation and ongoing popular protests in al-Mahra against the Saudi presence there.
On the other hand, American ambassador Henzel announced his country supports the efforts of the legal government to combat terrorism and smuggling acts. During his visit to the al-Ġayḍa airport, he also stressed the importance to rapidly implement the Riyadh Agreement and form a new government.

كشف وكيل محافظة المهرة اليمنية لشؤون الشباب، بدر كلشات، عن وجود قوات أميركية وبريطانية في مطار الغيضة الدولي.
وقال كلشات إن السفير الأميركي لدى اليمن كريستوفر هنزل، زار مقر القوات الأميركية والبريطانية المتواجدة في المطار. مستغربا تزامن الزيارة مع الاحتفال بذكرى عيد الاستقلال الـ 30 لجلاء آخر جندي بريطاني من اليمن، قبل53 عاما.
من جهته ،أتهم رئيس لجنة الاعتصام السلمي في محافظة المهرة، الشيخ عامر كلشات، السعودية بإرسال السفير الأميركي لدى اليمن للحديث عن الإرهاب وتبرير تواجدها. مؤكداً على أن الظهور المفاجئ للسفير الأميركي في مطار الغيضة من دون إعلان مسبق هو نوع من أنواع الاحتلال الذي يمارسه السفير السعودي في المحافظة
وحذر رئيس اعتصام المهرة من مؤامرات جديدة تحاك ضد المحافظة، بالتزامن مع قرب انتهاء ولاية الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب. مشيراً إلى أن جرائم السعودية في اليمن لن تسقط بالتقادم، بالرغم من اعتقادها أن الشرعية توفر لها الحماية من الملاحقات القانونية القادمة
بدوره، قال رئيس لجنة اعتصام مديرية شحن الشيخ حميد زعبنوت، إن زيارة هنزل تعد سابقة خطرة في العلاقات الدولية. مؤكدا على أن ممارسات الرئاسة اليمنية وحكومتها (المعترف بها دوليا)، وتنازلاتها الفاضحة عن السيادة الوطنية لم تعد مقبولة
وفي السياق نفسه، اعتبر ناشطون على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي أن زيارة السفير الأميركي لمحافظة المهرة، برفقة السفير السعودي لدى اليمن محمد آل جابر، تعد ترويجا للورقة والشماعة السعودية في محاربة الإرهاب والتهريب، وذلك لتبرير تواجدها في المهرة
وكانت زيارة السفير الأميركي لمحافظة المهرة قد أثارت تساؤلات عديدة، حيث تزامنت مع الاحتفالات الوطنية بعيد الاستقلال عن المحتل البريطاني، واستمرار الاحتجاجات الشعبية في المهرة، ضد الوجود السعودي فيها
في المقابل، أعلن السفير الأميركي هنزل، دعم بلاده لجهود الحكومة الشرعية في مكافحة الإرهاب وأعمال التهريب. وشدد خلال زيارته مطار الغيضة على ضرورة سرعة تنفيذ اتفاق الرياض وتشكيل الحكومة الجديدة
