Iraqi Foreign Minister Fu’ād Ḥussayn on Thursday arrived to Riyadh to take part in the meeting of Gulf Cooperation Council’s Foreign Ministers.
In a statement the media office of the Iraqi Foreign Minister mentioned that: “by the invitation of the Gulf Cooperation Council’s Secretary General Foreign Minister Fu’ād Ḥussayn arrived to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to take part in the foreign ministers meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council states”.
The statement explained that “it is expected that during he meeting the ministers shall address a number of matters, which concern the region and the relations of those neighboring states, which are not part of the council, in addition to studying the regional and international matters”.
It pointed out that “the minister shall shred light on the future prospects of the Baghdad Summit for Cooperation and Partnership and the reflections of all that on the foreign relations and also on the security and political situation in Iraq, also adding the early elections and its relevance for Iraq and the region”.
According to the statement: “the discussions between the ministers and the Arab partners participating in the meeting will focus on economic relations, trade and the role of the Gulf companies in investing in various fields in Iraq, yet the minister will also study the matter of linking up to the Gulf electricity grid and by it supplying Iraq with energy”.
It also pointed out that the minister will meet a number of ministers from the Gulf countries during his bilateral discussions about Iraq’s relations with the respective countries.

العراق يشارك في اجتماع وزراء خارجية دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي

وصل وزير الخارجية العراقي فؤاد حسين، الخميس، إلى الرياض للمُشارَكة في اجتماع وزراء خارجيّة دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي.
وذكر المكتب الإعلامي لوزير الخارجية العراقي في بيان، أنه «بدعوة من الأمينِ العام لمجلس التعاون الخليجي، وصلَ وزير الخارجيَّة فؤاد حسين إلى المملكة العربيّة السعوديّة؛ للمُشارَكة في اجتماع وزراء خارجيَّة دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي».
وأوضح البيان، أنه «من المُؤمَّل أن يـُناقِش الوزراء خلال الاجتماع العديد من القضايا التي تعنى بالمنطقة وعلاقات الدول المحيطة بها خارج المجلس، إضافةً إلى بحث قضايا إقليمية، ودولية».
وأشار إلى أن «الوزير سيلقي الضوء على الأبعاد المستقبلية لمُؤتمر بغداد للتعاون والشراكة وانعكاس كلِّ ذلك على العلاقات الخارجيَّة والوضع السياسيّ والأمنيّ في العراق، إضافة إلى الانتخابات المُبكرة وأهميتها للعراق والمنطقة».
وبحسب البيان، «ستركِّز المباحثات بين الوزير والأطراف العربيّة المُشاركة في الاجتماع على العلاقات الاقتصاديّة، والتجاريّة ودور الشركات الخليجيّة في الاستثمار في القطاعات المُختلفة في العراق، كما سيبحث الوزير موضوع الربط مع الشبكة الكهربائيّة الخليجيّة وتزويد العراق من خلالها بالطاقة».
ولفت إلى أن الوزير سيلتقي بالعديد من وزراء الدول الخليجيّة في مُباحثات ثنائيَّة للتباحث حول العلاقات بين العراق والدول المعنية.
