Former Commander of the Rev Guards and General Secretary of the State Expediency Council Moḥammad Bāqer Dū l-Qadr is appointed as Secretary of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, following Martyr ‘Alī Lārīğānī.

On Tuesday Iranian Deputy President for Public Relations Mehdī Ṭabāṭabā’ī announced the appointment of Moḥammad Bāqer Dū l-Qadr as Secretary of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council.

In a post on X Ṭabāṭabā’ī said: “With the approval of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and Republic as-Sayyid Moğtabā Hāmeneī Iranian President Mas‘ūd Pezeškiyān issued a decree appointing Moḥammad Bāqer Dū l-Qadr as Secretary of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council”.

Dū l-Qadr takes over his new duty following martyr ‘Alī Lārīğānī, who was martyred with his son and a number of members of his team in an Israeli aggression on 7 March.

The political and military life of Dū l-Qadr

Since 2020 Dū l-Qadr has been working on the post of General Secretary of the State Expediency Council.

The new Secretary of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council held high ranking positions within the Islamic Revolutionary Guards, as he was the Director of the Revolutionary Guards Joint Institution, before becoming Deputy Commander for 8 years. That is the same positions he was fulfilling following his predecessor Martyr Lārīğānī in the ‘80s.

Dū l-Qadr was also working on the post of Deputy Interior Minister for Security Affairs, and Deputy Director for Strategic Affairs at the Judiciary Authority.

Dū l-Qadr was the Deputy Secretary for the Iranian Supreme National Security Council under Martyr ‘Alī Lārīğānī, during his first term between 2005 and 2007.

It should be mentioned that this Iranian official has a decree in economics from the University of Tehran, a Masters Degree in state administration and a Doctorate in Strategic Administration.

أعلن مساعد الرئيس الإيراني للعلاقات العامة مهدي طباطبائي، الثلاثاء، تعيين محمد باقر ذو القدر أميناً للمجلس الأعلى للأمن القومي الإيراني.

وقال طباطبائي، في منشور على منصة “إكس”: “بموافقة قائد الثورة والجمهورية الإسلامية السيد مجتبى خامنئي، أصدر الرئيس الإيراني مسعود بزشكيان حكم تعيين محمد باقر ذو القدر أميناً للمجلس الأعلى للأمن القومي الإيراني”.

ويتسلم ذو القدر مهامه الجديدة خلفاً للشهيد علي لاريجاني، الذي استشهد مع نجله وعدد من مساعديه، في اعتداء إسرائيلي، في الـ7 من آذار/مارس الجاري

ويشغل ذو القدر، منذ العام 2020، منصب الأمين العام لمجمع تشخيص مصلحة النظام.

كما تسلم أمين المجلس الأعلى للأمن القومي الإيراني الجديد مناصب رفيعة داخل حرس الثورة الإسلامية، حيث كان رئيساً للهيئة المشتركة للحرس، قبل أن يصبح نائب القائد لمدة 8 سنوات، وهو المنصب نفسه الذي كان تولاه سلفه الشهيد لاريجاني في ثمانينيات القرن الماضي.

وشغل ذو القدر أيضاً منصب مساعد وزير الداخلية في الشؤون الأمنية، ومهام المساعد للشؤون الاستراتيجية في السلطة القضائية.

وكان ذو القدر نائب أمين المجلس الأعلى للأمن القومي (الشهيد علي لاريجاني) في الفترة الأولى بين عامي 2005 و 2007.

يذكر أن المسؤول الإيراني حاصل على شهادة في الاقتصاد من جامعة طهران، ودرجة ماجستير في الإدارة الحكومية، ودكتوراه في الإدارة الاستراتيجية
