The Foreign Minister of Pakistan confirms that the Riyadh meeting next week will concentrate on discussing the political engagement with Anṣār Allah, instead of a military action in Yemen.

2  October

Pakistani Foreign Minister Isḥāq Dār announced that the scheduled meeting in Riyadh next week will concentrate on discussing the strikes launched by Anṣār Allah against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Minister Dār explained that the meeting will discuss the ways of political engagement with Anṣār Allah, instead of the military option.

This comes after the Yemeni Armed Forces fought filed operations against the Saudi backed forces in a number of provinces following preventive strikes against their military mobilizations.

The Yemeni Armed Forces continue targeting the vital infrastructure in the Kingdom in response to the continued aggression and blockade against Yemen at a time when the Saudi airplanes continue to launch airstrikes against the provinces of Ma’rib, al-Ğawf, Ta‘izz and al-Ḥudayda.

Isḥāq Dār: No approval will take place to any requests for new joining to the present convention

In the same context the Pakistani Foreign Minister confirmed that no approval will take place to any new requests for joining the present convention, until it becomes fully functional, pointing out that this procedural step might take a period of a full year.

It should be remembered that Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan had signed the “Mecca Joint Defense Convention” on 7 August during meeting between Saudi Crown Prince Muḥammad ibn Salmān, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Pakistani Prime Minister Šahbāz Šarīf with the aim of “enhancing the collective deterrence, security and stability”, while confirming that it does not takes the place of the three countries standing international obligations.
