Member of the Jordanian security opens fire in a mistaken way in the vicinity of the American embassy in Amman. The American embassy in Jordan says that no one was injured in the accident, and it seems there was no intention to hurt anyone.
One of the members of the Jordanian security opened fire “in a mistaken way” in the vicinity of the American embassy in Amman yesterday, on Sunday. The bullets hit the wall, but nobody got injured.
The spokesman of the Jordanian General Security Agency said: “during one of the security men on official duty around the American embassy on Sunday emptied a number of bullets from his weapon by mistake and hit the cement wall from the outside. No injury happened to be mentioned and an investigation was opened on the event.”
On its own term, the American embassy said in a statement: “around 5 o’clock Sunday night an officer of the Jordanian gendarmerie posting in front of the embassy emptied his weapon by mistake to the guard wall. There seems to be no intention to hurt anyone”.

قام أحد عناصر الأمن الأردني بإطلاق النار “عن طريق الخطأ” بالقرب من السفارة الأميركية في عمّان، أمس الأحد، فجاءت الطلقات في الجدار، ولم يُصب أحد بجروح
وقال الناطق الإعلامي باسم مديرية الأمن العام الأردنية: “أثناء قيام أحد رجال الأمن بالوظيفة الرسمية في محيط السفارة الأميركية الأحد، خرجت عدة طلقات من سلاحه بالخطأ، وأصابت جداراً إسمنتياً خارجياً، ولم تقع أي إصابات تذكر، وفتح تحقيق في الحادثة
من جهتها، قالت السفارة الأميركية في بيان: “في حوالى الساعة الخامسة مساء اليوم الأحد، قام أحد ضباط الدرك الأردنيين المنتدبين أمام السفارة بتفريغ سلاحه بالخطأ في جدار خرساني، ولم يصب أحد بالحادثة، ولا يبدو أنه كان ينوي إيذاء أي شخص
