The launch of Operation “Lions of the Desert” to confront what is left of Dā‘iš in the desert of al-Anbār, after operation “The first Ramadan”.
The Iraqi News Agency reported the launch of what came to be called Operations “Lions of the Desert” to confront what is left of Dā‘iš in the deserts of al-Anbār.
In the operation, the leaderships of the operations in al-Anbār and al-Ğazīra and the leadership of the al-Ḥašd aš-Ša‘abī in the west of al-Anbār took part on 9 fronts, supported by the plane of the army and the air forces.
This operation comes to reinforce the security and the stability in this region and to confront the terrorist combatants and also to apprehend suspects.
Within Operation “Lions of the Desert” the “Ḥašd Ḥadīta [Modern Mobilization] Brigade” managed to kill 3 from the leadership of Dā‘iš in the region of al-Madham, and to blow up a speed car carrying explosive devices.
A force from the 35th Brigade of the al-Ḥašd aš-Ša‘abī found a number of missiles aimed to target the resident districts in the province of Ṣalāḥ ad-Dīn.
Elements of the al-Ḥašd aš-Ša‘abī had repelled two attacks of Dā‘iš in the area of as-Sa‘īdāt in Ğarf aṣ-Ṣahr south of Baghdad, and also clashes took place in the area of Iṣlāḥ on the outskirts of Ğulūlā’, north of Ba‘qūba.
Reporter of al-Mayadeen has reported that the al-Ḥašd [aš-Ša‘abī] have repelled a fierce terrorist attack close to the district of al-Sağalla in the department of al-Dağīl in the south of Ṣalāḥ ad-Dīn.
At night, our reporter delivered that “Dā‘iš” launched an attack against one of the secret front positions of vanguard of the 5th infantry division at the town of ‘Ayn Layla, close to “Dalī ‘Abbās” in Diyāla province, which leads to the injury of two combatants.
He added that during the clashes with “Dā‘iš” on the outskirts of al-‘Aẓīm district in Diyāla two martyrs have fallen and 7 got injured from the security forces.
On 27 April Operation “the First Ramadan” was launched to liberate the western desert of al-Anbār from the Dā‘išh organization.
The “al-Ḥašd aš-Ša‘abī” launched a wave of searches in a number of areas in the desert of al-Anbār to apprehend “Dā‘iš” cells. The operation included the area west of Lake ar-Razāza, and the area of Tamīl.
Sources to al-Mayadeen have revealed information concerning the successor leader of the “Dā‘iš” organization after “Abū Bakr al-Baġdādī”, who’s name is Amīr Sa‘īd ‘Abd ar-Raḥmān as-Sālibī, also called “ ‘Abd Allah Qardāš”, “Ḥağğī ‘Abd Allah”, or “Ustād [Professor/Master] Aḥmad”, who was born in the year 1976.

أفادت وكالة الأنباء العراقية بانطلاق ما سمّته عمليات “أسود الصحراء” لملاحقة بقايا داعش في صحراء الأنبار
وشاركت في الهجوم قيادات عمليات الأنبار والجزيرة والحشد الشعبي غرب الأنبار ضمن القاطع، وعلى 9 محاور، بإسناد طيران الجيش والقوه الجوية
وتأتي هذه العملية لتعزيز الأمن والاستقرار في هذه المناطق وملاحقة العناصر الإرهابية والقاء القبض على المطلوبين
وضمن عملية “أسود الصحراء”، تمكّن “لواء حشد حديثة” من قتل 3 قياديين من داعش في منطقة المدهم، وفجّر عجلة تحمل عبوات ناسفة
وعثرت قوة من اللواء 35 في الحشد الشعبي على عددٍ من الصواريخ الموجهة لاستهداف حي سكني في قاطع الصينية في محافظة صلاح الدين
وكانت ألوية من الحشد الشعبي قد تصدّت لهجومين لداعش في منطقة السعيدات بجرف الصخر جنوبي بغداد، ووقعت اشتباكات في منطقة الإصلاح بأطراف جلولاء شمال بعقوبة
مراسل الميادين أفاد بصد الحشد هجوماً إرهابياً عنيفاً قرب ناحية السجلة في قضاء الدجيل جنوب صلاح الدين
أما ليلاً، فقد أفاد مراسلنا بأن “داعش” شنّ هجوماً على إحدى نقاط السرية الأولى في فوج مغاوير فرقة المشاة الخامسة، في قرية عين ليلى قرب “دلي عباس” في محافظة ديالى، وقد نتج منه جرح مقاتل
وأضاف أنه، وجراء الاشتباكات مع “داعش” في أطراف ناحية العظيم في ديالى، سقط شهيدان و7 جرحى من قوات الأمن
وفي 27 نيسان/ أبريل، انطلقت عملية “رمضان الأولى” لتطهير صحراء الأنبار الغربية من تنظيم داعش
وكان “الحشد الشعبي” بدأ حملة تفتيش في عدة مناطق في صحراء الأنبار لملاحقة خلايا “داعش”، وشملت الحملة المنطقة غرب بحيرة الرزازة ومنطقة ثميل
وكشفت مصادر للميادين عن معلومات حول خليفة زعيم تنظيم “داعش” الملقّب بـ “أبو بكر البغدادي”، واسمه أمير محمد سعيد عبد الرحمن السالبي، ويكنى بــ “عبد الله قرداش” و”حجي عبد الله” و”أستاذ أحمد”، وهو من مواليد العام 1976
