The scientists, politicians, and activists in favor of Egyptian President ‘Abd al-Fattāḥ as-Sīsī face new controversies after the directives to erase the Quranic verses and Prophetical accounts from the educational manuals under the pretext that they act for the spreading of radical ideologies.

Deputy Minister for Teaching and Education Riḍā Ḥiğāzī confirmed in front of the new parliament that as-Sīsī tasked the ministry to erase the Quranic verses and the Holy Prophetical accounts from the classes of Arabic literature and history and to confine them to the class of religion only. Thus under the pretext that those activities for the spreading of “radical ideologies”.
The Deputy Minister of Education has already announced that the ministry approved the initiative given by a parliament member to introduce a new subject, which would include the common values between the Islamic, Christian, and Jewish religions, and also the principles of compassion and living together in the basic education.
Member of the Defense and National Security Council Farīdī al-Bayāḍī described the case of the religious texts in the subjects of the Arabic language, history, and geography as “great danger”, claiming that those give unfounded grounds for the teachers to teach those texts by misleading and radical explanations, and also to spread radical ideas.

انتقادات جديدة وجهها علماء وسياسيون ونشطاء للرئيس المصري عبد الفتاح السيسي، بعد توجيهه بحذف الآيات القرآنية والأحاديث النبوية من المقررات التعليمية بذريعة أنها تعمل على نشر الأفكار المتطرفة
وكان نائب وزير التربية والتعليم رضا حجازي، قد أكد أمام البرلمان الجديد، أن السيسي قد وجه الوزارة بحذف الآيات القرآنية والأحاديث النبوية الشريفة من مادتي اللغة العربية والتاريخ، واقتصارها على مادة الدين فقط، بذريعة أن ذلك يعمل على نشر “الأفكار المتطرف
وقد أعلن نائب وزير التعليم عن موافقة الوزارة على اقتراح قدمه نائب برلماني حول تدريس مادة جديدة متضمنة القيم المشتركة بين الدين الإسلامي والمسيحية واليهودية، ومبادئ التسامح والعيش المشترك في التعليم الأساسي
ووصف عضو لجنة الدفاع والأمن القومي، فريدي البياضي، وضع نصوص دينية في مواد اللغة العربية والتاريخ والجغرافيا بأنه يشكل “خطورة كبيرة”، زاعما أن ذلك يعطي مجالاً لمدرسين غير مؤهلين أن يفسروا تلك النصوص تفسيرات متطرفة و هدامة، ونشر الأفكار المتطرفة
