Syrian President Baššār al-Asad greets Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoygu and the negotiations addresses the cooperation between the Russian and the Syrian armies, especially the matter of combating the terrorism.
Syrian President Baššār al-Asad welcomes Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoygu in Damascus, who arrived to Syria give impetus to the Russian navy drills in the Middle East.
The Russian Ministry of Defense pointed out that Minister Shoygu “during the visit the Syrian President discussed the protocol of the Russian navy drills in the Middle East”.
It added: “different matters of technical military cooperation were discussed between the two states in the context of joint combat against the international terrorist affiliates and the Russian humanitarian aids to the Syrian people, which suffers from the current sanctions imposed by the
United States and the Western countries”.
On its own behalf the Syrian Presidency in a statement reported that the discussion addressed “the ongoing cooperation between the Russian and Syrian armies, especially in the matter of anti-terrorist activities”.
The Presidency mentioned that Minister Shoygu “once again confirmed that his country will go on with the cooperation with Syria in this field, until sovereignty is reinstated over all territories, despite the attempts by states supporting the terrorist organizations to restart their activities after the losses these organizations suffered”.
Previously Commander of the Russian Navy Forces Admiral Nikolai Ifminov announced that more 140 navy vessels carrying 60 planes took part in the drills launched by the Russian Ministry of Defense in the Mediterranean.
Ifminov said in a report presented to the Joint Command of the Armed Forces that “more than 140 warships and 1000 military vehicles took part in the series of Russian navy drills in the Mediterranean”. Also adding: “Also more than 60 planes, 1000 units from different military pieces and some 10 thousand soldiers took part in the drills”.
It should be mentioned that that the Russian Defense Ministry announced yesterday, on Tuesday that military drills were launched for the attacking engineer corps using the most modern equipment at the Krasnodar region adjacent to Crimea.
Few days ago the Russian Defense Ministry announced the beginning of the “Federal Resolve 2022” joint Russian-Belorussian military drills in Belarus. In a statement the Ministry said that the drills are going on “with the aim to be mindful about the duties of confronting the forming aggression via defensive operations, apart from anti-terrorist operations and the protection of the interest of the federal state”.
The Kremlin had announced previously that Russia and Belarus “are facing unprecedented threats, and it seems that its intensity unfortunately is much bigger and much more dangerous that the case was in the past”. According to Peskov that is the matter, which explains the size of the joint military drills between the two states.

الرئيس السوري بشار الأسد يستقبل وزير الدفاع الروسي سيرغي شويغو، والحديث يتناول التعاون بين الجيشين الروسي والسوري، وخصوصاً في قضية مكافحة الإرهاب
استقبل الرئيس السوري بشار الأسد في دمشق وزير الدفاع الروسي سيرغي شويغو، الذي وصل إلى سوريا لتفقد سير مناورات البحرية الروسية في شرق المتوسط.
وأشارت وزارة الدفاع الروسية إلى أنّ الوزير شويغو “أطلع الرئيس السوري خلال اللقاء على سير المناورات البحرية الروسية في شرق المتوسط”.
وأضافت: “تم بحث مختلف قضايا التعاون العسكري التقني بين البلدين، في إطار القتال المشترك ضد فلول الإرهابيين الدوليين، والمساعدات الإنسانية الروسية للشعب السوري، الذي يعاني من عقوبات جائرة فرضتها الولايات المتحدة والدول الغربية”.
من جهتها، أفادت الرئاسة السورية، في بيان، بأن الحديث تناول “التعاون القائم بين الجيشين الروسي والسوري، وخصوصاً في موضوع مكافحة الإرهاب”.
وذكرت الرئاسة أنّ الوزير شويغو “جدد التأكيد أنّ بلاده ستستمر في التعاون مع سوريا في هذا المجال، حتى استعادة سيادتها على كامل أراضيها، على الرغم من محاولات الدول الداعمة للتنظيمات الإرهابية إعادة تنشيطها بعد الخسائر التي لحقت بهذه التنظيمات”.
وفي وقت سابق، أعلن القائد العام للقوات البحرية الروسية، الأميرال نيقولاي إيفمينوف، أنّ أكثر من 140 قطعة بحرية تغطيها 60 طائرة تشارك في مناورات أطلقتها وزارة الدفاع الروسية في البحر المتوسط.
وقال إيفمينوف، في تقرير رفعه إلى القيادة العامة للقوات المسلحة، إنّ “أكثر من 140 سفينة حربية و1000 آلية عسكرية تشارك في سلسلة من المناورات البحرية الروسية في البحر المتوسط”، مضيفاً: “تشارك أيضاً أكثر من 60 طائرة، و1000 وحدة من المعدات العسكرية، وحوالى 10 آلاف جندي، في المناورات”.
يذكر أنّ وزارة الدفاع الروسية أعلنت، أمس الثلاثاء، انطلاق تدريبات عسكرية للوحدات الهندسية الهجومية باستخدام أحدث المعدات في إقليم كراسنودار في جوار القرم.
وقبل أيام، أعلنت وزارة الدفاع الروسية بدء التدريبات العسكرية الروسية البيلاروسية المشتركة “حزم الاتحاد-2022” في بيلاروسيا. وقالت الوزارة، في بيان، إنّ التدريبات تجري “بهدف إتقان مهام التصدي لعدوان خارجي خلال عملية دفاعية، فضلاً عن مكافحة الإرهاب وحماية مصالح الدولة الاتحادية”.
وأعلن الكرملين، في وقتٍ سابق، أنّ روسيا وبيلاروسيا “تواجهان تهديدات غير مسبوقة. ويبدو أنّ كثافتها، للأسف، أكبر بكثير وأكثر خطورة مما كان عليه الأمر في الماضي”، وهو الأمر الذي يفسّر حجم التدريبات العسكرية المشتركة بين البلدين، بحسب بيسكوف.
