The Wall Street Journal newspaper reveals that an Iranian missile attack had targeted the Prince Sultan airbase in Saudi Arabia, which led to damages to 5 American refueling planes, thus raising the number of damaged, or destroyed planes to 7 at least.

The American Wall Street Journal reported that 5 refueling planes of the American Air Force “suffered Iranian bombardment and got damaged” at the Prince Sultan Airbase in Saudi Arabia.
The newspaper added that this attack raises the number of refueling planes of the American Air Force that has gotten damaged or destroyed to 7 at least.
It cited officials saying that the fuel carriers had suffered an Iranian missile attack targeting the Prince Sultan Airbase that counts to be the main installation for the American forces in Saudi Arabia.
The officials reported that the attack had happened during the wave of the Iranian missile launches that targeted the American military positions in the different areas of the region during the last few days.
It is believed that the damaged planes are all Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker air refueling planes used to extend the range and capabilities of the fighters and bombers to stay in air. According to the officials “the damages suffered by the planes happened while they were on the ground”.
This development is added to the series of latest losses that hit the American Air Force in the region.
The newspaper cited an American officials that the toll of the last two weeks by the war shows the death of 13 American soldiers and 10 others injured with dangerous injuries, while the total number of those injured is around 200.

صحيفة “وول ستريت جورنال” تكشف أنّ هجوماً صاروخياً إيرانياً استهدف قاعدة “الأمير سلطان” الجوية في السعودية، أدى إلى إصابة 5 طائرات أميركية للتزود بالوقود، ليرتفع عدد الطائرات المتضررة أو المدمرة إلى 7 على الأقل

أفادت صحيفة “وول ستريت جورنال” الأميركية بأنّ 5 طائرات تابعة لـسلاح الجو الأميركي للتزود بالوقود “تعرضت لقصف إيراني وأصيبت” في قاعدة الأمير سلطان الجوية في السعودية.
وأضافت الصحيفة أنّ هذا الهجوم يرفع عدد طائرات التزود بالوقود التابعة لسلاح الجو الأميركي التي تضررت أو دُمرت إلى 7 طائرات على الأقل.
ونقلت عن مسؤولين قولهم إنّ ناقلات الوقود تعرضت لهجوم صاروخي إيراني استهدف قاعدة الأمير سلطان الجوية، التي تعد منشأة رئيسية للقوات الأميركية في السعودية
وأفاد المسؤولون بأنّ الهجوم وقع خلال موجة من إطلاق الصواريخ الإيرانية التي استهدفت مواقع عسكرية أميركية في أنحاء المنطقة خلال الأيام الماضية.
ويُعتقد أن الطائرات المتضررة هي طائرات التزود بالوقود جواً من طراز “بوينغ KC-135”- “ستراتوتانكر”، المستخدمة لزيادة مدى وقدرة طائرات المقاتلات والقاذفات على البقاء في الجو. ووفقاً لمسؤولين، فقد “لحقت أضرار بالطائرات أثناء وجودها على الأرض”.
ويُضاف هذا التطور إلى سلسلة من النكسات الأخيرة التي مُني بها سلاح الجو الأميركي في المنطقة.
كما نقلت الصحيفة عن مسؤول أميركي أنّ الحصيلة، بعد أسبوعين من الحرب، تشير إلى مقتل 13 جندياً أميركياً وإصابة 10 آخرين بجروح خطيرة، فيما بلغ إجمالي عدد الجرحى نحو 200
