Correspondent of al-‘Ālam reported the death of Munīr al-Yāfa‘ī Abū l-Yamāma, commander of the so called “First Support and Backing Battalion” in the operation against the al-Ğalā’ compound in ‘Aden.

Munīr Maḥmūd Aḥmad al-Mašālī, who is called Abū l-Yamāma l-Yāra‘ī (born in 1974) enrolled the Southern Army in 1989, before he would finish high school, and later he finished his hugh school studies in the same school belonging to general Labūza.
He got education in political and military studies between the years 1991 and 1993. After that he returned to the general and performed operations for him. General Maḥmūd aṣ-Ṣabīḥī chose him to be the commander of the operation liberating the al-‘Anad Air Base and airport. After that the former Minister of Defense during the war in 1994, Haytam Qāsim Ṭāhir issued and order elevating him to the rank of Lieutenant.
During the war of 1994 al-Yāfa‘ī escaped from ‘Aden with the southern military leadership to the Sultanate of Oman, a later to Saudi Arabia. He stayed in Riyadh until 1998.
Lately he was chosen by the Coalition of Aggression as commander of the security maneuver in al-Manṣūra, as he was also appointed and commander of the special operation in the province of Laḥağ. After that he was appointed as commander of the emergency and swift reacting forces in ‘Aden.
Spokesman of the Yemeni Armed Forces, Major-General Yaḥyā Sarī‘ affirmed that the Air and Drone Forces of the Army and the Popular Committees executed on Thursday a joint operation targeting the al-Ğalā’ Base belonging to the intruders and the mercenaries in ‘Aden in the south of the country.
The official spokesman of the Yemeni Armed Forces made it clear in short statement that “the joint operation against the al-Ğalā’ Base in ‘Aden targeted a military parade of the intruders and the mercenaries, and the hit was precise.” Major-General Sarī‘ clarified that “the military parade was targeted by Qāṣif 2k drone and a mid-range ballistic missile which hasn’t been revealed yet.”
About the result he confirmed that the operation killed and wounded tens of intruders and their mercenaries, among them the leadership, and caused great confusion among their ranks.
He also pointed out that “the military parade, which was targeted in ‘Aden was done as preparation for movement and aggression against bases of the Army and the Popular Committees in the provinces of aḍ-Ḍāli‘ and Ta‘izz.

أعلن مراسل العالم، مقتل قائد ما يسمى “اللواء الاول دعم واسناد” منير اليافعي ابو اليمامة بالعملية على معسكر الجلاء بالبريقة في عدن

التحق منير محمود أحمد المشالي، الملقب بأبي اليمامة اليافعي (من مواليد عام 1974م) بالجيش الجنوبي عام 1989م، قبل أن يتخرج من الثانوية العامة، ومن ثم اكمل دراسته الثانوية في نفس المدرسة التابعة للواء لبوزة
بعد الوحدة حصل على دورة في العلوم السياسية والعسكرية خلال الفترة من عام 1991 الى العام 1993م، ومن ثم عاد إلى اللواء يعمل في عمليات اللواء، واختاره اللواء محمود الصبيحي قائدا للسرية المختصة بتحرير قاعدة العند الجوية أي المطار. وبعد ذلك أصدر وزير الدفاع السابق إبان حرب 1994 هيثم قاسم طاهر قرارا بترقيته إلى رتبة نقيب
وأثناء حرب عام 1994م نزح الیافعی من عدن برفقه قيادة جنوبية عسكرية في زورق حربي إلى سلطنة عمان ومن ثم إلى السعودية، وبقي في مدينة الرياض إلى العام 1998م
وتم تعیینه اخیرا من قبل تحالف العدوان قائدا للحملة الأمنية في المنصورة كما تم تعيينه قائدا للحملة الأمنية الخاصة في محافظة لحج، ومن ثم تم تعيينه قائدا لقوات الطوارئ والتدخل السريع في عدن
هذا وأكد المتحدث باسم القوات المسلحة اليمنية العميد يحيى سريع، ان سلاح الجو المسير والقوة الصاروخية لدى الجيش واللجان الشعبية، نفذا اليوم الخميس، عملية مشتركة استهدفت معسكر الجلاء التابع للغزاة والمرتزقة بعدن جنوب البلاد
وأوضح المتحدث الرسمي للقوات المسلحة اليمنية في بيان مقتضب أن “العملية المشتركة باتجاه معسكر الجلاء بعدن استهدفت عرضا عسكريا للغزاة والمرتزقة، وكانت الإصابة دقيقة”. وبين العميد سريع أنه تم “استهداف العرض العسكري بطائرة قاصف 2k وصاروخ بالستي متوسط المدى لم يكشف عنه حتى الآن”
وأكد أنه نتج عن العمليةِ مصرعُ وإصابةُ العشرات من الغزاة ومرتزقتهم بينهم قيادات، وتسببت في حالة إرباك كبيرة في صفوفهم
وأشار إلى أن “العرض العسكري الذي تم استهدافه في عدن كان يتم التحضير من خلاله للزحف والتصعيد باتجاه مواقع الجيش واللجان الشعبية في محافظتي الضالع وتعز“
