The are informations about that Washington begin working on setting up two new military bases in Eastern Syria, at the same time when the operation of withdrawing American troops from the country is ongoing.
Several Syrian sources reported that the United States in the last few days started working on establishing two new military bases in Eastern Syria at the same time when the operation of withdrawing American forces from the country is still ongoing.
Local sources reported to the Turkish “Anadolu” news agency that the United States reinforced its military presence in the oil rich Dayr az-Zūr, and started to build two new military bases for the American army in the province under the control of the “Syrian Democratic Forces”, an ally of Washington at war with the “Dā‘iš” organization.
The agency’s sources cleared that the first base is about to be set up in the town of aṣ-Ṣūr in the northern part of the province, while the second base is built in the headquarters of the 113th Brigade, which belonged to the Syrian Army in the Northwestern part of Dayr az-Zūr Province.
The agency pointed out that the American Army, after the launch of the Turkish “Spring of Peace” operation against the Kurdish “People’s Defense Units [YPG]” operating as “Syrian Democratic Forces, sent reinforcements to the Dayz az-Zūr, which exceeds some 250 men, machines, armored vehicles, rocket launchers and missiles.
These informations come as a reaffirmation to what the official Syrian newspaper “al-Watan” mentioned, which last week said that “the American forces begun to set up two military bases” in Dayr az-Zūr.”
The American army in a number of military bases and points in Dayr az-Zūr, after the “Dā‘iš” organization became gradually expelled from the province in a 3 years long time.
The importance of the this province goes back to the fact that it holds oil filed, the most important amongst them are the “al-‘Umr”, “Kūnkū”, “Ğafra” and the “Tanak”. Previously the United States officially assured that its remaining forces’ role in Syria is to secure the control over this areas, including the prevention of access to it by the governmental Syrian forces, or Russia.

معلومات عن إطلاق واشنطن العمل على إنشاء قاعدتين عسكريتين جديدتين شرق سوريا، تزامناً مع استمرار عملية انسحاب القوات الأميركية من البلاد
أفادت مصادر سورية عدة بإطلاق الولايات المتحدة، خلال الأيام الماضية، العمل على إنشاء قاعدتين عسكريتين جديدتين شرق سوريا، تزامناً مع استمرار عملية انسحاب القوات الأميركية من البلاد
وذكرت مصادر محلية لوكالة “الأناضول” التركية، أن الولايات المتحدة عززّت وجودها العسكري في دير الزور الغنية بالنفط، وبدأت ببناء قاعدتين جديدتين للجيش الأميركي في المحافظة الخاضعة لسيطرة “قوات سوريا الديمقراطية”، حليفة واشنطن في الحرب على تنظيم “داعش”
وأوضحت مصادر الوكالة أن القاعدة الأولى تجري إقامتها في بلدة الصور بريف المحافظة الشمالي، وتبنى القاعدة الثانية في مقر اللواء 113 الذي كان يتبع للجيش السوري بريف دير الزور الشمالي الغربي
وأشارت الوكالة إلى أن الجيش الأميركي أرسل، بعد إطلاق عملية “نبع السلام” التركية ضد “وحدات حماية الشعب” الكردية الناشطة في إطار “قوات سوريا الديمقراطية”، أرسل تعزيزات إلى دير الزور بلغ قوامها نحو 250 جنديا، وآليات ومصفحات وراجمات صواريخ
وتأتي هذه المعلومات تأكيدا لما ذكرته صحيفة “الوطن” السورية الرسمية، التي قالت الأسبوع الماضي إن “القوات الأميركية بدأت إنشاء قاعدتين عسكريتين” في دير الزور
ويتواجد الجيش الأميركي في عدد من القواعد والنقاط العسكرية في دير الزور بعد طرد تنظيم “داعش” من المحافظة تدريجيا على مدار 3 سنوات
وتعود أهمية هذه المنطقة إلى احتضانها حقولا نفطية أبرزها “العمر” و”كونكو” و”جفرة” و”تنك”، وسبق أن أكدت الولايات المتحدة رسمياً أن دور قواتها المتبقية في سوريا يكمن في ضمان السيطرة على هذه المواقع، بما في ذلك منع وصول القوات السورية الحكومية أو روسيا إليها
