American President Donald Trump has revealed details about the talks between him and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan about Syria during his meeting with the Prime Minister of the Israeli Occupation Benjamin Netanyahu in the White House.
Trump said: “I congratulated the Turkish President for taking what other proved unable to do for two thousand years, taking Syria by his proxies”.
He continued that Erdoğan responded to him it was not him, who took Syria, to which he answered “but well, he doesn’t have to acknowledge this”. So Erdoğan said: “Well, maybe it was me, who took it”.
Trump added that “Erdoğan is a harsh person and quite smart. He achieved something no one had managed before and that victory must be given to him”.
The American President addressing Netanyahu said that he could “solve the problem with Türkiye as long ask his requests are logical”. Stating that: “We all must be reasonable”.
Netanyahu had announced before that he “doesn’t want Turkish military bases in Syria”, to which Trump advised to solve the problems with Türkiye with reason.
Netanyahu said that he discussed the Syrian case with Trump, pointing out that “Israel does not want the image of Türkiye to use its land against it”.
Netanyahu added: “we have discussed the ways by which we can prevent the confrontation”, about which Trump expressed his readiness to help solving the problem between Türkiye and “Israel”.
Ankara is preparing to play the principal role in Syria, including signing a possible joint defense agreement that might see setting up new Turkish bases in the middle of Syria and using the airspace of the country.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry had described “Israel” as being “the biggest threat to the regional security”. Also underlining at the same time that his country does not seek any confrontation with “Israel”.

كشف الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب، عن مجريات محادثة بينه وبين الرئيس التركي رجب طيب إردوغان، بشأن سوريا، خلال لقائه رئيس الحكومة الإسرائيلية، بنيامين نتنياهو، في البيت الأبيض.
وقال ترامب: “هنّأت الرئيس التركي بقيامه بما عجز عن فعله الآخرون على مدى ألفي عام، وذلك بأخذه سوريا عبر وكلائه”.
وتابع أنّ إردوغان أجابه بأنّه ليس من أخذ سوريا، فردّ عليه بأنّه كان هو و”لكن حسناً ليس عليه الإقرار بذلك”، فقال إردوغان: “حسناً، ربما كنت أنا من أخذها”.
وأضاف ترامب أنّ “إردوغان شخص قاسٍ وذكي للغاية، وأنجز شيئاً لم يستطع أحد القيام به من قبل، ويجب التسليم بانتصاره”.
وتوجّه الرئيس الأميركي إلى نتنياهو بالقول إنّ بإمكانه “حل أي مشكلة مع تركيا ما دام منطقياً في طلباته”، مردفاً: “علينا جميعاً أن نكون منطقيين”.
وكان نتنياهو قد أعلن أنّه “لا يريد قواعد تركية في سوريا”، ورداً على ذلك نصحه ترامب بحل المشاكل مع تركيا بعقلانية.
وقال نتنياهو إنه ناقش مع ترامب الملف السوري، مشيراً إلى أنّ “إسرائيل لا تريد رؤية تركيا تستخدم الأراضي السورية كقاعدة ضدها”.
وأضاف نتنياهو: “تحدثنا عن السبل التي يمكننا من خلالها تجنب هذا الصدام”، فيما أعرب ترامب عن استعداده للمساعدة في حل المشكلة بين تركيا و”إسرائيل”.
وتستعد أنقرة، للعب دور رئيسي في سوريا، بما في ذلك إبرام اتفاق دفاع مشترك محتمل قد يشهد إقامة قواعد تركية جديدة في وسط سوريا، واستخدام المجال الجوي للبلاد.
