American President Donald Trump announces on Twitter that Morocco and “Israel” reached an agreement to normalize relations. The Moroccan Royal Council says: “The United States will open a consulate in Western Sahara in the framework of the agreement with “Israel”.
American President Donald Trump announced today, on Thursday on Twitter that Morocco and “Israel” have agreed on the normalization of the relations.
Trump added in his tweet: “I signed a proclamation recognizing Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara”.
Trump’s proclamation about the normalization pointed out that: “Setting up an independent state in Moroccan Sahara is not a realistic option to solve the struggle”. While the White House proclaimed: “The sides of the struggle in Western Sahara are investigations the basis of the Moroccan plan for autonomy as the framework of the negotiations”.
In another tweet, Trump said: “Morocco recognized the United States in 1777. It is thus fitting we recognize their sovereignty over Western Sahara”.
Commenting that the Moroccan Royal Council said that the recognition by Washington of the Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara is “a historic stance”, about which the “France Press” news agency said that “Morocco begin diplomatic relations in the closest possibility with Israel”
The Moroccan Royal Council on its own term mentions that: “the United States will open a consulate in Western Sahara in the framework of the agreement with Israel” was.
It should be mentioned that the region of Western Sahara witnesses a conflict for decades between Morocco and the “Polisario” Front, which “struggles for an independent state”. Last month the military clashes renewed there.
On its own role, the “Reuters” cited an American official saying: “Morocco and Israel have agreed to set up full diplomatic relations within the framework of the normalization agreement”.
The American official said that: “Trump made the agreement in a telephone call today, on Thursday, with Moroccan king VI. Muḥammad on the basis of the normalization of relations”.
Summing up the agreement: “Morocco will set up full diplomatic relations and will start official communications with Israel. It will allow the crossing of journeys and the arrival and departure of Israel to and from Israel”.
“Reuters” also quoted an Israeli Minister saying that the agreement with Morocco is a “historic and joyous” event. At the same time, the Israel “El-Al” airline company pointed out that “it studies the possibility to operate direct journeys to Morocco”.
White House main advisor Jared Kushner said: “The two sides will immediately restart to open the communication offices in Rabat and Tel Aviv and the building of the two embassies”, pointing out that: “The two sides will strengthen the economic cooperation between the Israeli and Moroccan companies”.
He continued saying: “the American administration today made another historic step. President Trump arranged a peace agreement between Morocco and Israel, which is the fourth agreement of its kind between Israel and the Arab states after four months”.
Kushner added: “the normalization of relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel is a sure thing”.
This comes after the Emirates, Bahrain, and Sudan all announced the normalization of relations with “Israel”.
On 15 September this year, the Emirates and Bahrain in the White House signed an agreement of “Israeli normalization” with Tel Aviv in Washington in the presence of American President Donald Trump.
In an official ceremony on the White House with Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the lead with Emirati Foreign Minister ‘Abd Allah ibn Zāyid and Bahraini Foreign Minister ‘Abd al-Laṭīf az-Ziyānī Netanyahu, Ibn Zāyid and az-Ziyānī singed “a peace treaty”, which was called “Abraham Accords”.

وأضاف ترامب في تغريدته أنه “وقع إعلاناً يعترف بسيادة المغرب على الصحراء الغربية
إعلان ترامب حول التطبيع أشار إلى أن “إقامة دولة مستقلة في الصحراء الغربية ليس خياراً واقعياً لحل الصراع”، فيما حث البيت الأبيض “أطراف الصراع في الصحراء الغربية على التباحث على أساس خطة المغرب للحكم الذاتي كإطار للتفاوض
وقال ترامب في تغريدة أخرى “لقد اعترف المغرب بالولايات المتحدة عام 1777. فمن المناسب أن نعترف بسيادتهم على الصحراء الغربية
وتعليقاً على ذلك، قال الديوان الملكي المغربي إن اعتراف واشنطن بالسيادة المغربية على الصحراء الغربية “موقف تاريخي”، فيما قالت وكالة “فرانس برس” إن “المغرب يؤكد استئناف العلاقات الدبلوماسية في أقرب الآجال مع إسرائيل
الديوان الملكي المغربي ذكر بدوره أن “الولايات المتحدة ستفتح قنصلية في الصحراء الغربية في إطار الاتفاق مع إٍسرائيل
ويذكر أنّ إقليم الصحراء الغربية يشهد نزاعاً منذ عقود بين المغرب وجبهة “البوليساريو” التي “تسعى إلى دولة مستقلة”، حيث تجددت المناوشات العسكرية الشهر الماض
وكالة “رويترز” نقلت بدورها عن مسؤول أميركي قوله إن “المغرب وإسرائيل تتفقان على إقامة علاقات دبلوماسية كاملة في إطار اتفاق التطبيع
وقال المسؤول الأميركي إن “ترامب توصل للاتفاق في مكالمة هاتفية، اليوم الخميس، مع الملك المغربي محمد السادس، على تطبيع العلاقات
وبموجب الاتفاق “سيقيم المغرب علاقات دبلوماسية كاملة ويستأنف الاتصالات الرسمية مع إسرائيل ويسمح بعبور رحلات ووصول وقيام رحلات من إسرائيل وإليها
كما نقلت “رويترز” عن وزير إسرائيلي قوله إن الاتفاق مع المغرب حدث “تاريخي وسار”. في حين، أشارت شركة طيران “العال” الإسرائيلية إلى أنها “تدرس إمكانية تسيير رحلات مباشرة إلى المغرب
وقال جاريد كوشنر كبير مستشاري البيت الأبيض، إن “الطرفين سيقومان بإعادة فتح مكاتب الاتصال في الرباط وتل أبيب على الفور وبنية فتح سفارتين”، لافتاً إلى أن “الطرفين سيعززان التعاون الاقتصادي بين الشركات الإسرائيلية والمغربية

ويأتي ذلك بعدما أعلنت كلّ من الإمارات والبحرين والسودان تطبيع العلاقات مع “إسرائيل
وفي 15 أيلول/ سبتمبر الماضي، وقعت الإمارات والبحرين في البيت الأبيض على اتفاق “التطبي الأسرلة” مع تل أبيب في واشنطن، بحضور الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب
