Two days after Tunisian President Qays Sa‘īd published the new constitution about to be ratified by referendum in the official news gazette, the Tunisian General Labor Union announces participation in the referendum.
The Tunisian General Labor Union decided on Saturday to participate in the referendum about the draft of the new constitution and leaves the freedom to vote to the division members.
Secretary-General of the Tunisian General Labor Union Nūr ad-Dīn aṭ-Ṭabūbī said on Friday that the legal affairs department and the researches department “will meet a group of delegates in order to read through the draft constitution”.
According to what the local private “Mosaic” radio reported, aṭ-Ṭabūbī pointed out that “the administrative institution will meet tomorrow to take the decisions about the stance of the union about this draft”.
Tunisian President Qays Sa‘īd on Thursday in the official news gazette published the new constitution offered for the referendum.
The official Tunisian news gazette reported that the constitution offered for the referendum “secures the change of the political system to a presidential system with increased prerogatives for the President”.
This comes after the Tunisian Presidency announced on Monday that President of the Constitutional Amendment Committee aṣ-Ṣādiq Bil-‘Ayd handed over the draft version of the new constitution to President Qays Sa‘īd.
President Sa‘īd suspended the constitution of 2014 from being active after he announced extraordinary measures in the country on 25 July 2021 and froze the parliament, then later dissolving it. In addition to that, he dissolved the constitutional institutions and the Supreme Judiciary Council, to substitute it with a temporal council and removed dozens of judges.

بعد يومين على نشر الرئيس التونسي، قيس سعيّد، الدستور الجديد المطروح للاستفتاء في الجريدة الرسمية، الاتحاد العام التونسي للشغل يعلن عن المشاركة في الاستفتاء
قرر الاتحاد العام التونسي للشغل اليوم السبت، المشاركة في الاستفتاء على مشروع الدستور الجديد، وترك حرية التصويت لأعضاء النقابات.
وقال الأمين العامّ للاتّحاد العامّ التونسي للشغل، نور الدين الطبوبي، أمس الجمعة، إنّ قسم الشؤون القانونية وقسم الدراسات “سيجتمعان مع جملة من الكفاءات من أجل صياغة قراءة لمشروع الدستور”.
ولفت الطبوبي بحسب ما نقلت إذاعة “موزاييك” المحلية الخاصة، إلى أنّ “الهيئة الإدارية ستجتمع غداً لاتّخاذ القرارات المتعلّقة بموقف الاتّحاد من هذا المشروع”.
ونشر الرئيس التونسي، قيس سعيّد، يوم الخميس، في الجريدة الرسمية، الدستور الجديد المطروح للاستفتاء.
وأفادت الجريدة الرسمية التونسية بأنّ الدستور المقترح للاستفتاء “يتضمن تغيير النظام السياسي إلى نظام رئاسي، مع مزيد من الصلاحيات للرئيس”.
وجاء ذلك بعد إعلان الرئاسة التونسية، يوم الإثنين، أنّ رئيس لجنة صياغة الدستور، الصادق بلعيد، سلّم مسوّدة مشروع الدستور الجديد إلى الرئيس التونسي، قيس سعيد.
وعلّق الرئيس سعيّد العمل بدستور عام 2014 بعد إعلانه التدابير الاستثنائية في البلاد يوم 25 تموز/يوليو 2021، وجمّد البرلمان ثم حلّه، بالإضافة إلى حلّ هيئات دستورية والمجلس الأعلى للقضاء، وتعويضه بمجلس موقت، وعزله للعشرات من القضاة
