The Syrian Army currently combs over the strategic city of Ma‘rat an-Nu‘mān after its liberation from the armed groups.
The reporter of al-Mayadeen delivered the news that the Syrian Army took the city of Ma‘rat an-Nu‘mān under control, the biggest city in the southern countryside of Idlib, after it sieged it by fire and cut several support lines for the armed groups.
Our reporter pointed out that the army currently combs the strategic city over, after it was liberated from the armed groups.
Our reporter also brought it to attention that news arrived about the an-Nuṣra Front leaving its position in the “ar-Rāšidīn 4 district” in the southwest of Aleppo.
The city [Ma‘rat an-Nu‘mān] come out of the control by the Syrian state after continued attempts by the armed groups, which at that time were called “Free Army”. That was in October 2012, after fierce battles going on for nearly 4 consecutive days ending with the withdrawal of the forces concentrating in the city towards the two military bases of Wādī aḍ-Ḍayf and al-Ḥāmidiyya.
After what was called “Free Army” took control of the city, its members started a campaign of bloodbaths and arrests, which claimed a large number of the supporters of the Syrian state and the opposers of the armed movement, which was forced upon the city at that time. That lead hundreds of families to run away towards the safe areas under the control of the Syrian Army.

الجيش السوري يقوم حالياً بتمشيط مدينة معرة النعمان الاستراتيجية بعد تحريرها من المسلحين
أفاد مراسل الميادين بأن الجيش السوري سيطر على مدينة معرة النعمان كبرى مدن ريف إدلب الجنوبي، بعد محاصرتها نارياً وقطع العديد من طرقات الإمداد للمسلحين
ولفت مراسلنا إلى أن الجيش يقوم حالياً بتمشيط المدينة الاستراتيجية بعد تحريرها من المسلحين
كما أشار مراسلنا إلى ورود أنباء عن إخلاء جبهة النصرة مواقعها في “حي الراشدين 4” جنوب غرب حلب
وكانت المدينة قد خرجت عن سيطرة الدولة السورية بعد محاولات متكررة للجماعات المسلحة والتي كان تسمى حينها “الجيش الحر”، وذلك في تشرين الأول/ أكتوبر من العام 2012 بعد معارك عنيفة استمرت نحو 4 أيام متواصلة انتهت بانسحاب القوات المتمركزة داخل المدينة نحو معسكري وادي الضيف والحامدية
وبعد سيطرت ما يسمى”الجيش الحر” على المدينة، بدأ عناصره حملة تصفية واعتقالات طالت عدداً كبيراً من المؤيدين للدولة السورية والرافضين للحراك المسلح الذي فُرض على المدينة في تلك الفترة، ما أدى إلى هروب مئات العائلات نحو مناطق آمنة يسيطر عليها الجيش السوري
