The Iranian Revolutionary Guards announces that an attempt to hijack an Iranian civilian airplane and change its course to land in a Gulf country south of Iran was foiled.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards announces in a statement today, on Friday that an attempt to hijack a civilian plane yesterday night, which belonged to “Iran Air” heading from the city of Ahwāz in southern Iran to the city of Mašhad was foiled.
The Revolutionary Guards confirmed that a person who committed that act was detained and an emergency landing was performed in the city of Esfahān. Thus confirming that all passengers are well, and they were taken to another plane.
The Revolutionary Guards explained that the culprit wanted to hijack the plane and change its course, making it land in a Gulf country south of Iran.
It also pointed out that the investigations and the interrogation are still going on about the aspects of this conspiracy.

حرس الثورة الإيراني يعلن عن محاولة اختطاف طائرة ركاب مدنية إيرانية وتغيير مسارها، وجعلها تهبط في أحد بلدان الخليج جنوب إيران، وتوقيف الخاطف.
أعلن حرس الثورة الإيراني في بيان أصدره، اليوم الجمعة، عن إحباط محاولة اختطاف طائرة ركاب مدنية ليلة أمس الخميس تابعة لشركة “إيران إير”، كانت متوجهة من مدينة الأهواز جنوب إيران إلى مدينة مشهد
وأكد “حرس الثورة” أنه تمّ اعتقال الشخص المنفذ للعملية، وتنفيذ هبوط اضطراري للطائرة في مدينة أصفهان، مؤكداً أن جميع الركاب بخير، وقد تمّ نقلهم عبر طائرة أخرى
وأوضح “حرس الثورة” أن منفذ العملية كان يهدف إلى خطف الطائرة، وتغيير مسارها، وجعلها تهبط في أحد بلدان الخليج جنوب إيران
كما أشار إلى أنه حتى اللحظة يتم البحث والتحقيق في أبعاد هذه المؤامرة
