Moroccan Prime Minister ‘Azīz Ahanūš calls for dialogue to end the youth protests, while the security forces prepare for the sixth night of protests that are escalating to vandalism in various parts of the country.

On Thursday Moroccan Prime Minister ‘Azīz Ahanūš said that he is “open for the dialogue with to end the youth protests”, while the security forces are preparing for the sixth night of protests that are escalating to acts of vandalism in various parts of the country.
Ahanūš explained that “the dialogue is the only way”, adding in a statement that his government “is understanding with the demands that had been expressed by the youth movements”, and that it is ready for “the dialogue and discussion”. He added that “we confirm once again that the constructive approach to the dialogue is the only way to combat the various challenges our country is facing”.
The protests had started with demands to improve the education and the healthcare and had been organized by a youth group that is calling itself “Z 212 Generation” on the social media platforms.
According to Reuters in a statement the youth group condemned the violence and called for “newer peaceful protests in the major cities”, saying that “we urge all participants to remain orderly and within a peaceful nature with our behavior”. The organizers are planning for protests for Thursday night in the major cities.
On his behalf the official spokesman of the Internal Ministry stated that 70% of the participants in the acts of vandalism and clashes with the security forces in all areas of Morocco were minors”. By Thursday the number of those injured has risen to 640, out of which 589 were from the security forces, according to the Ministry. It added that “413 vehicles of the security forces and 195 private cars have been damaged”.
The spokesman of the Interior Ministry said that “the grownups were arrested, while the minors were put under prevention measures”, confirming that “the authorities will take all necessary legal measures without hesitation or leniency against all those proven to be involved in acts prohibited by the law”.
It should be remembered that the protests started with demands to improve the education and the healthcare in the country.

وأوضح أخنوش أن “الحوار هو السبيل الوحيد”، مضيفاً في بيان. إن حكومته “تفاعلت مع المطالب التي عبرت عنها الحركات الشبابية” وهي مستعدة “للحوار والنقاش”، مضيفاً “نؤكد مرة أخرى. أن النهج المبني على الحوار هو السبيل الوحيد لمواجهة التحديات المختلفة التي تواجه بلادنا”.
وكانت الاحتجاجات قد بدأت بمطالبات بتحسين التعليم والرعاية الصحية، نظمتها مجموعة. شبابية تُطلق على نفسها اسم “جيل زد 212″، باستخدام منصات إلكترونية.
ونددت المجموعة الشبابية، في بيان بحسب “رويترز“، بالعنف ودعت إلى. “احتجاجات سلمية جديدة في المدن الكبرى”، قائلة “نحث جميع المشاركين على البقاء منضبطين وضمان الطبيعة السلمية لتصرفاتنا”. ويعتزم المنظمون تنظيم احتجاجات، مساء الخميس، في المدن الكبرى.
