A vicious Israeli aggression targeted a number of journalists, which led to the martyrdom of al-Mayadeen reporter Fāṭima Futūnī and the reporter of the al-Manār channel ‘Alī Šu‘ayb while they were covering the aggression of the Israeli Occupation.

The al-Mayadeen network announces the martyrdom of ground correspondent Fāṭima Futūnī, who lost her life in a vicious Israeli aggression targeting a group of journalists in the are of Ğazzīn in Southern Lebanon.
In the same attack war correspondent icon of the al-Manār channel ‘Alī Šu‘ayb also fell martyr, just like cameraman Muḥammad Futūnī.
Correspondent Fāṭima Futūnī became well known in the frontline in the South since the beginning of the “Flood of al-Aqṣā” in 2023 and excelled in her frontline coverage amines the fiercest battles taking place between the Resistance and the “army” of the Israeli Occupation.
The role of Futūnī became most relevant by providing precise and brave objective coverage that she managed to do by dismissing the gossips that had been spread that the Israeli Occupation forces e entered into al-Hiyām, proving wide ranged journalist experience proving coverage under fire.
As for the journalist ‘Alī Šu‘ayb, he was the eyes that never slept at the borders, with his camera documenting the break of the Occupation at Kafar Šūbā and al-Hardala and being targeting more than one time ending his journey with the honor of martyrdom.
Earlier the Israeli reports described the journalist martyr ‘Alī Šu‘ayb as he transformed into “a strategic information channel” and a direct source documenting the failures of the Occupation at the frontlines. The Israeli “Yediot Aharonot” newspaper reported that he became to represent a real threat exceeding the journalist dimensions, saying that his messages from the ground “equal to military weapons” in their impact and effect.
On his behalf Director of the al-Mayadeen’s Lebanese office Rūnī Alfā said that “Fāṭima Futūnī was a hero of al-Mayadeen and the voice of the Arab and global media”.
Alfā mourned her pledging to her that “we remain sending the message of resistance, freedom and sovereignty”, also saying that “she was our loyal message of resistance, freedom and sovereignty from the ground at the South and today became a martyr”.
In October 2024 the Israeli Occupation carried out an aggression against a media compound at Ḥāṣibiyā in Southern Lebanon and following this aggression cameraman of al-Mayadeen Ġassān Nağğār and his colleague broadcast engineer Muḥammad Riḍā fell martyr. Similarly cameraman of the al-Manār channel Wisām Qāsim fell martyr.
In November 2023 al-Mayadeen correspondent Faraḥ ‘Umar, her accompanying cameraman Rabī‘ al-Mi‘mārī and Ḥussayn ‘Uqaylifī fell martyr by an Israeli airstrike targeting them at the town of Ṭayr Ḥarfā in Southern Lebanon.
Also on 26 September 2024 the colleague of al-Mayadeen online Hādī as-Sayyid fell martyr suffering injuries at his head following a targeted attack by the Israeli Occupation at the town of Burğ Raḥḥāl in the South.

عدوان إسرائيلي غادر يستهدف عدد من الصحافيين ما أسفر عن استشهاد مراسلة الميادين الزميلة فاطمة فتوني ومراسل قناة المنار علي شعيب خلال تغطيتهما لعدوان الاحتلال الإسرائيلي

أعلنت شبكة الميادين الإعلامية استشهاد الزميلة المراسلة الميدانية فاطمة فتوني، التي ارتقت في اعتداءٍ إسرائيلي غادر استهدف مجموعة من الصحافيين في منطقة جزين جنوبي لبنان
كما استشهد في الغارة ذاتها أيقونة الإعلام الحربي ومراسل قناة المنار، الزميل علي شعيب، والزميل المصور محمد فتوني
والزميلة فاطمة فتوني، التي عرفتها ميادين الجنوب منذ انطلاق “طوفان الأقصى” 2023، تميّزت بتغطيتها الميدانية وسط أعنف المعارك القائمة بين المقاومة و”جيش” الاحتلال الإسرائيلي.
وقد برز دور فتوني في تقديم تغطية موضوعية دقيقة وشجاعة، نجحت من خلالها في دحض الشائعات التي روجت لدخول قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي برياً إلى الخيام مثبتةً خبرة إعلامية واسعة في إدارة الرسالة الإعلامية تحت النار
أما الزميل علي شعيب، فقد كان العين التي لا تنام على الحدود، موثقاً بكاميرته انكسارات الاحتلال في كفرشوبا والخردلة، ومستهدفاً في أكثر من مرة قبل أن يختم مسيرته الحافلة بوسام الشهادة
وفي وقتٍ سابق، وصفت تقارير إسرائيلية الزميل الشهيد علي شعيب، بأنه تحول إلى “قناة معلومات استراتيجية” ومصدر مباشر يوثق انكسارات الاحتلال عند الحافة الأمامية. وأقرت صحيفة “يديعوت أحرونوت” الإسرائيلية بأنه بات يمثل تهديداً حقيقياً يتجاوز البعد الإعلامي، معتبرةً أن رسائله الميدانية “تعادل الأسلحة العسكرية” في تأثيرها ووقعها.
بدوره، قال مدير مكتب الميادين في لبنان روني ألفا إنّ “فاطمة فتوني كانت بطلة الميادين والكلمة حتى الإعلام العربي والعالمي”.
ونعى ألفا معاهداً إياها أن “نبقى على رسالة المقاومة والحرية والسيادة”، متابعاً “كانت توافينا برسالة المقاومة والحرية والسيادة من أرض الجنوب واليوم أصبحت شهيدة”.
وفي تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 2024، نفذ الاحتلال الإسرائيلي عدواناً على مقر إقامة الصحافيين في حاصبيا جنوبي لبنان. وعلى إثر هذا الاستهداف، استشهد الزميل المصور في “الميادين”، غسان نجار، والزميل مهندس البث في القناة محمد رضا في العدوان، وكذلك استشهد الزميل المصور في قناة المنار وسام قاسم.
وفي تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 2023، استشهدت مراسلة الميادين فرح عمر والمصور الذي يُرافقها ربيع المعماري وحسين عقيلفي غارة إسرائيلية استهدفتهم في بلدة طيرحرفا جنوبي لبنان.
وكذلك، في 24 أيلول/سبتمبر 2024، ارتقى الزميل في الميادين أونلاين، هادي السيد، شهيداً متأثراً بجروح أُصيب بها في رأسه، من جراء استهداف الاحتلال الإسرائيلي بلدة برج رحّال في الجنوب
