President of Sana’a’s negotiating delegation Muḥammad ‘Abd as-Salām reveals a meeting held between the delegation of Sana’a and the Saudi leadership that has led to overcoming the most important obstacles the roadmap was facing.

President of Sana’a’s negotiating delegation Muḥammad ‘Abd as-Salām has revealed a meeting that took place between the delegation led by him and the Saudi leadership. “This resulted in overcoming the most important obstacles the roadmap was facing”.

‘Abd as-Salām told the Šarq al-Awsaṭ [Saudi] newspaper that “the roadmap guaranteed addressing all concerns”, underlining that the delegation of Sana’a had confirmed the need to address the desperate humanitarian situation from which the Yemeni people are suffering at all regions of the country.

He pointed out in the same context that “addressing the humanitarian question and for that opening up the airports, the ports and the highways is a matter that will have a massive positive effect on the rest of the matters, with the political dialogue at the top of the list”.

The peace plan the two sides had reached before concentrated on a total ceasefire in the country and the opening of all land, areal and naval border crossing, uniting the Central Bank and continuing the prisoners exchange process (in an all for all basis).

During the meeting ‘Abd as-Salām confirmed that “the general position of the states of the world is to ensure the safety of its vessels and to secure them, so they would not face any damage”. Yet the delegation of Sana’a according to ‘Abd as-Salām has confirmed “the continued military actions on the Red Sea that are targeting the Israeli vessels and those heading to Israel, until the aggression against the Gaza Strip is stopped and the blockade is lifted”.

The Yemeni official underlined the position of Sana’a supporting the oppressed Palestinian people, confirming in his interview that “if the oppression and the blockade against the Palestinian people is lifted the supportive actions will no doubt stop”.

‘Abd as-Salām has confirmed that the peace operation in Yemen “is going on in a positive way”, explaining that the operations of the Yemeni Armed Forces on the Red Sea “are separated from the peace process”. Thus confirming that “the suggestions of the West threatening the internal solution is an attempt for pressure”.

أكد المتحدث باسم الجيش العراقي، اللواء يحيي رسول، اليوم الخميس، أن القوات الأميركية “تهدد السلم الأهلي وتخرق سيادة العراق”، وذلك بعد تنفيذ كشف رئيس وفد صنعاء المفاوض، محمد عبد السلام، عن لقاءٍ جرى بين الوفد الذي يترأسه وقياداتٍ سعودية، و”نتج منه تجاوز لأهم العقبات التي كانت تواجه خريطة الطريق”.

وقال عبد السلام لصحيفة “الشرق الأوسط” إنّ “خريطة الطريق تضمّنت طرح مخاوف الجميع”، مُشدّداً على أنّ وفد صنعاء أكّد ضرورة معالجة الملف الإنساني المُلحّ، الذي يعانيه الشعب اليمني في كل أنحاء البلاد. 

وأشار، في السياق نفسه، إلى أنّ “معالجة الملف الإنساني، وما تتضمّنه من فتح المطارات والموانئ والطرقات، أمرٌ سينعكس إيجاباً، وبصورة كبيرة، على سائر الملفات، وفي مقدمتها الحوار السياسي”. 

وتركّزت خطة السلام، التي توصل إليها الطرفان، في وقت سابق، على وقف شامل لإطلاق النار في البلاد، وفتح جميع المنافذ البرية والجوية والبحرية، ودمج البنك المركزي، واستكمال تبادل الأسرى والمعتقلين (الكل في مقابل الكل).

وأكّد عبد السلام، خلال اللقاء، أنّ “الموقف الأغلب لدى دول العالم هو حرصها على سلامة سفنها و الاطمئنان عليها حتى لا تتعرض لأذى”، إلا أنّ وفد صنعاء أكّد، بحسب عبد السلام، “استمرار العمليات العسكرية في البحر الأحمر، التي تستهدف السفن الإسرائيلية والمتجهة إلى إسرائيل حتى انتهاء العدوان والحصار على قطاع غزة”. 

وشدّد المسؤول اليمني على موقف صنعاء المساند للشعب الفلسطيني المظلوم، مؤكداً، في حديثه، أنّه “إذا توقف الظلم والحصار عن الشعب الفلسطيني فإن العمليات المساندة سوف تتوقف من دون شك”.

وأكّد عبد السلام أنّ مشهد السلام في اليمن “يسير بصورة جيدة”، موضحاً أنّ عمليات القوات المسلحة اليمنية في البحر الأحمر “منفصلة عن مسار عملية السلام”، ومؤكداً أن “تلميحات الغرب إلى تهديد الحل في الداخل محاولة ضغط
