Syrian President Baššār al-Asad visited the United Arab Emirates and met with Deputy President of the state, Prime Minister and the ruler of Dubai His Highness aš-Šayh Muḥammad ibn Rāšid Āl Maktūm at the residence of His Highness in al-Marmūm at Dubai.
During this meeting meeting aš-Šayh Muḥammad ibn Rāšid welcomed President al-Asad and the delegation accompanying him, as this visit comes in the framework of brotherly relations between the two states. He thus expressed his best wishes for Syria and its people, so they shall be blessed with security and peace all over the country, and also that it will once again in all its areas become a land of stability and flourishing. The meeting addressed the relations between the two states and the horizons to expand sphere of mutual cooperation, in this the fields of economy, investments and trade included serving the expectations of both brotherly peoples.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Dubai Crown Prince aš-Šayh Ḥamdān ibn Muḥammad ibn Rāšid Āl Maktūm, who is the deputy monarch of Dubai; His Higness aš-Šayh Maktūm ibn Muḥammad ibn Rāšid Āl Maktūm deputy ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Presidential Affairs His Highness aš-Šayh Manṣūr ibn Zāyid Āl Nahyān; Minister for Cabinet Affairs His Excellence Muḥammad ibn ‘Abd Allah al-Qarqāwī; Diplomatic Advisor for His Highness President of the State His Excellence dr. Anwār ibn Muḥammad Qarqāš; Deputy Secretary-General for the Supreme State Security Council His Excellence ‘Alī Ḥamād aš-Šāmisī and as well the General Director of the State Security Service in Dubai His Excellence Ṭalāl Ḥamīd bil-Hūl al-Falāsī.
The meeting was also attended by the delegation accompanying President al-Asad, which included Foreign Minister dr. Fayṣal al-Miqdād, Minister for Presidential Affairs Manṣūr ‘Azzām and Deputy Foreign Minister dr. Baššār al-Ğa‘afarī
Upon his arrival His Excellency [President al-Asad] was welcomed in the Dubai airport upon by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Presidential Affairs His Highness aš-Šayh Manṣūr ibn Zāyid Āl Nahyān.

الرئيس السوري بشار الأسد يزور الإمارات في اول زيارة له الى بلد عربي منذ بداية الحرب على سوريا
زار السيد الرئيس #بشار_اﻷسد دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة والتقى صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد #آل_مكتوم نائب رئيس الدولة رئيس مجلس الوزراء حاكم #دبي، وذلك في استراحة سموه في المرموم بدبي
ورحّب الشيخ محمد بن راشد خلال اللقاء بزيارة الرئيس الأسد والوفد المرافق، والتي تأتي في إطار العلاقات الأخوية بين البلدين، معرباً عن خالص تمنياته لسورية وشعبها أن يعم الأمن والسلام كافة أرجائها، وأن يسودها وعموم المنطقة الاستقرار والازدهار بما يعود على الجميع بالخير والنماء.
تناول اللقاء مجمل العلاقات بين البلدين وآفاق توسيع دائرة التعاون الثنائي لاسيما على الصعيد الاقتصادي والاستثماري والتجاري، بما يرقى إلى مستوى تطلعات الشعبين الشقيقين.
حضر اللقاء سمو الشيخ حمدان بن محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم ولي عهد دبي، وسمو الشيخ مكتوم بن محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم نائب حاكم دبي نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير المالية، وسمو الشيخ منصور بن زايد آل نهيان نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير شؤون الرئاسة، ومعالي محمد بن عبدالله القرقاوي وزير شؤون مجلس الوزراء، ومعالي الدكتور أنور بن محمد قرقاش المستشار الدبلوماسي لصاحب السمو رئيس الدولة، ومعالي علي بن حماد الشامسي نائب الأمين العام للمجلس الأعلى للأمن الوطني، ومعالي طلال حميد بالهول الفلاسي المدير العام لجهاز أمن الدولة في دبي.
كما حضره الوفد المرافق للرئيس الأسد الذي يضم الدكتور فيصل المقداد وزير الخارجية والمغتربين، ومنصور عزام وزير شؤون رئاسة الجمهورية، والدكتور بشار الجعفري نائب وزير الخارجية والمغتربين
