Media sources claimed that the Saudi regime is attempting to arrange a reconciliation with Turkey and the newest of this is that it commissioned the appointed Lebanese Prime Minister Sa‘ad al-Ḥarīrī to mediate with Ankara.

A few days ago the sources of “Saudi Wikileaks” have revealed that King Salmān is the one who leads the new Saudi steps to arrange a reconciliation with Turkey.
What is new, however, is what the Lebanese “al-Ğadīd” channel has revealed about the journey of appointed Lebanese Prime Minister Sa‘ad al-Ḥarīrī to Turkey, which came as an Arabic commission to open the doors of mediation between Ankara and Riyadh.
The channels explained that: “al-Ḥarīrī’s mission in Turkey is an Arabic commission and he headed there with a secret mission linked to the opening the doors of mediation between Turkey and Saudi
Arabia with Emirati approval”.
Diplomatic mission
Al-Ḥarīrī arrived a few days ago to Turkey on a previously unannounced visit and on Friday met with President Reception Tayyip Erdoğan in Istanbul.
The official circles said that during the meeting he studied how to strengthen the political, economic, trade, and cultural relations.
Apart from the cooperation in the regional events above everything else the Lebanese channel talked about “mediation”.
The talk of the Lebanese channel coincides with the statements of “Muṭlaq al-Qaḥṭānī”, special envoy of the Qatari Foreign Minister to combat terrorism and mediate on conflict settlement.
In Doha, al-Qaḥṭānī announced the readiness of Doha to mediate between Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
The statements of the Qatari envoy came amidst indications of Turkish-Saudi rapprochement.
Especially after that, the Turkish Foreign Ministry welcomed the efforts for the Gulf reconciliation in a statement last week.
Gulf reconciliation
In this context, one cannot ignore the statements by Emirati State Minister for Foreign Affairs Anwār Qarqāš last Tuesday saying that there are optimistic indications for the return of natural relations with Turkey.
After months of confusion and frozen relations for many reasons, most important of them being the murder of the Saudi journalist “Ğamāl Hāšuqğī” in the consulate of his country in Istanbul the last few weeks witnessed many indications suggesting a sort of improvement in the Saudi-Turkish relations.
A few weeks ago King “Salmān ibn ‘Abd al-‘Azīz” expressed his condolences to the victims of the earthquake in the Turkish province of Izmir and in addition he announced aid to the survivors of the earthquake.
This was followed by a phone conversation between the Saudi king and the Turkish President only a day before the G20 Summit, which was hosted by Saudi Arabia.
As a development it has its unique importance in the fact the this was the only such [phone conversation] by King Salmān with a head of state participating in the summit.

وأوضحت القناة أن “مهمة الحريري في تركيا بتكليف عربي، وهو توجه إلى هناك بمهمة سرية تتعلق بفتح أبواب الوساطة بين تركيا والسعودية وبموافقة إماراتية
مهمة دبلوماسية
ووصل الحريري إلى تركيا قبل أيام في زيارة غير معلنة مسبقا، والتقى، الجمعة، الرئيس “رجب طيب أردوغان” في إسطنبول
وقالت الدوائر الرسمية إنه بحث خلال اللقاء سبل تعزيز العلاقات السياسية والاقتصادية والتجارية والثقافية
فضلا عن التعاون في القضايا الإقليمية، قبل أن تتحدث القناة اللبنانية عن “سبل الوساطة
ويتزامن حديث القناة اللبنانية مع تصريحات لـ”مطلق القحطاني”، المبعوث الخاص لوزير الخارجية القطري لمكافحة الإرهاب والوساطة في تسوية المنازعات
وأعلن القحطاني أن الدوحة على استعداد للوساطة بين تركيا والسعودية
وجاءت تصريحات المبعوث القطري وسط مؤشرات على تقارب تركي سعودي
خاصة بعدما رحبت وزارة الخارجية التركية، في بيان أصدرته الأسبوع الماضي، بجهود المصالحة الخليجية

وفي هذا الصدد لا يمكن إغفال تصريحات وزير الدولة للشؤون الخارجية الإماراتي “أنور قرقاش”، الإثنين، التي قال فيها إن هناك مؤشرات مشجعة على عودة العلاقات لطبيعتها مع تركيا
وبعد أشهر من التوتر والجمود في العلاقات لعدة أسباب أهمها مقتل الصحفي السعودي “جمال خاشقجي” في قنصلية بلاده بإسطنبول
شهدت الأسابيع الأخيرة عدة مؤشرات قد تشير إلى نوع من التحسن في علاقات السعودية وتركيا
وقبل أسابيع، تقدم الملك السعودي “سلمان بن عبدالعزيز” التعزية في ضحايا زلزال ولاية إزمير التركية، إضافة للإعلان عن مساعدات للمنكوبين في الزلزال، بتوجيهات منه
وتبع ذلك اتصال بين الملك السعودي والرئيس التركي، قبل يوم من قمة العشرين التي استضافتها السعودية
