The French “Maghreb Intelligence” reveals that the Emirates have informed Algeria via high ranking security officer about its deep concern about what it described as “its policies opposing it [the Emirates]” and threatened with “completely re-evaluating their bilateral and economic cooperation”.

According to the French “Maghreb Intelligence” site, Abū Zabī threatened Algiers with “completely re-evaluating their bilateral and economic cooperation”.
The secret letter sent by Abū Zabī in September rapidly arrived to President Tabbūn and caused no response to it suggesting the regional and Arab situation is already in perils and complicated.
The site pointed out that “the Emirati reservations focused on the Libyan matter and the question of closeness with Turkey in addition to the matter of the normalization”.
The Emirates views that Algeria “fell into the Turkish trap in the Libyan crisis and that represents a threat to its interests”.
The site also confirmed that Emirates did not hide its anger regarding the statements of President Tabbūn about the normalization and the striving in this direction. On the contrary, it described his statements as “open aggression”.
According to the site the tension reached its zenith “after the statement of Tabbūn about the Arab states that normalize their relations with “Israel” on 20 September.
Given that there was no answer from Algeria and there was no change whatsoever in its policies the Emirates decided to open a consulate in the city of al-‘Ayūn in Western Sahara this November as “an answer saying that we are not in the same trench anymore”.
It should be remembered that Algeria had good relations with the Emirates during the tenure of late General Aḥmad Qā’id Ṣāliḥ before it met a major tension under the leadership of President ‘Abd al-Mağīd Tabbūn.

كما أكد الموقع أنّه لم تخفِ الإمارات غضبها من تصريح الرئيس تبون حول التطبيع والهرولة باتجاهه، بل ذهبت أبعد من ذلك، فوصفت تصريحاته في رسالتها بـ”العداء المعلن
