The foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia discussed a developments of the regional situation and confirmed the importance of diplomacy and consultations to preserve the stability.

According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, on Thursday Saudi Foreign Minister Fayṣal ibn Farḥān expressed his concern about the current regional situation and the possible implications of any escalation of the tensions.
During a telephone conversation held with his Iranian counterpart ‘Abbās ‘Arāqčī Ibn Farḥān confirmed “the importance of using the diplomatic channels and to enhance the regional cooperation to preserve the security and the stability”.
According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry the two sides confirmed the need to “continue the conciliatory efforts and to increase the joint efforts in order to restore peace and stability in the region”.
It should be pointed out that according to what her American “Wall Street Journal” reported, Riyadh is leading a diplomatic campaign to convince the White House not to direct a hit against Tehran.

أعرب وزير الخارجية السعودي، فيصل بن فرحان، اليوم الخميس، عن قلقه إزاء. الوضع الإقليمي الراهن والتداعيات المحتملة لأيّ تصعيد في التوتر، وفق وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية
وأكّد بن فرحان خلال اتصال هاتفي أجراه بنظيره الإيراني عباس عراقتشي “أهمية. استخدام القنوات الدبلوماسية وتعزيز التعاون الإقليمي للحفاظ على الأمن والاستقرار”.
ووفق الخارجية الإيرانية فإنّ الجانبين أكدا ضرورة “مواصلة المشاورات وتكثيف. الجهود المشتركة من أجل صون السلام والاستقرار في المنطقة”.
يشار إلى أنّ الرياض تقود جبهة دبلوماسية لإقناع البيت الأبيض بعدم توجيه ضربة لطهران، وفق. ما أفادت صحيفة “وول ستريت جورنال” الأميركية
