After its leader, Abū Bakr al-Baġdādī was killed in an American raid Syria at the end of [last] October the Dā‘iš organization announced that a new “Caliph” was chosen, who is Abū Ibrāhīm al-Hāšimī al-Qurašī. However, this name does not mean anything to most of the terrorist groups’ experts, so much so that some of them even doubt that this person might even be fictional. On that occasion a high ranking American official said that he is “completely unknown”.
The British “Guardian” newspaper added on Monday, reporting citing two unnamed secret service officials that “al-Hāsimī al-Qurašī, is in fact one of the founders of organization and of the great ideological leaders”. Also that his real name is Amīr Muḥammad ar-Raḥmān al-Mawlā aṣ-Ṣalbī.
Al-Mawlā descends from the Turkmen minority of Iraq, which makes him one of the few non-Arab leaders in the organization, according to the newspaper.
Al-Mawlā, who by the same source graduated in the University of Mosul, has much to do with the prosecution campaign lead by “Dā‘iš” against the Yazīdī minority in Iraq in 2014.
On its own part the United States announced in August 2019 a $5 million reward in exchange for any information leading to al-Mawlā, who was and still is a leader in the organization, yet than he was only the “Caliph apparent to the leader of the Dā‘iš Abū Bakr al-Baġdādī.

بعيد مقتل زعيمه أبو بكر البغدادي بغارة أميركية في سوريا نهاية أكتوبر، أعلن تنظيم “داعش” اختيار “خليفة” جديد هو أبو إبراهيم الهاشمي القرشي. إلا أن هذا الاسم لم يعن شيئاً للكثير من الخبراء بشؤون الجماعات الإرهابية لدرجة أن بعضهم شكك حتى بإمكان أن يكون شخصية وهمية، في حين قال عنه مسؤول أميركي رفيع المستوى إنه “مجهول تماماً
وأفادت صحيفة “الغارديان” البريطانية، الاثنين، نقلاً عن مسؤولين في جهازين استخباريين لم تسمهما أن “الهاشمي القرشي، هو في الواقع أحد مؤسسي التنظيم ومن كبار منظريه العقائديين”، واسمه الحقيقي أمير محمد عبد الرحمن المولى الصلبي
كما يتحدر المولى من الأقلية التركمانية في العراق، ما يجعله واحداً من القادة غير العرب القلائل في التنظيم، وفق الصحيفة
والمولى الذي تخرّج، بحسب المصدر نفسه، من جامعة الموصل كانت له اليد الطولى في حملة الاضطهاد التي شنّها “داعش” بحق الأقلية الأيزيدية في العراق عام 2014
من جهتها، رصدت الولايات المتحدة في اوت 2019 مكافأة مالية تصل قيمتها إلى خمسة ملايين دولار مقابل أي معلومة تقودها إلى المولى الذي كان لا يزال في حينه قيادياً في التنظيم لكنه مع ذلك كان “خليفة محتملاً لزعيم داعش أبو بكر البغدادي
