Western diplomatic sources in Syria reported that a number of European embassies will restart their activities in Damascus in the very soon future.

The sources of the “al-Waṭan” newspaper said that diplomats from Greece, Hungary, and Serbia have indeed arrived in Damascus and there are preparations to restart the diplomatic work, except the consular sections, which need a big number of diplomats.
The source added that Italy recently agreed to accept a Syrian diplomat representing at FAO in Rome, who may arrive there very soon to take on his duties.
Yesterday the lawyers union has signed a contract with the embassy of Cyprus so that the Cypriot side may rent a building in Abū Rummāna [one of the top neighborhoods in Damascus – Amaraia] belonging to the union so that the embassy can reopen there.

افادت مصادر دبلوماسية غربية في سوريا، أن عدداً من السفارات الأوروبية تستعد لاستئناف نشاطها في دمشق في القريب العاجل
وقالت المصادر لصحيفة “الوطن”، إن دبلوماسيين من كل من اليونان وهنغاريا وصربيا، وصلوا بالفعل إلى دمشق، وإن الاستعدادات جارية لاستئناف العمل الدبلوماسي، باستثناء الأقسام القنصلية التي تحتاج إلى عدد كبير من الدبلوماسيين
وأضاف المصدر أن ايطاليا وافقت مؤخراً على اعتماد دبلوماسي سوري ممثلاً للفاو في روما وقد يصل إليها في القريب العاجل لمباشرة مهامه
ويوم أمس وقّعت نقابة المحامين مع سفارة قبرص، عقداً لاستئجار الجانب القبرصي مبنى في أبو رمانة تابعاً للنقابة لإعادة فتح سفارتها بدمشق
