The Iranian Foreign Ministry announces that Foreign Affairs Commissioner Josep Borrell will visit Tehran today to study the pending matters about the nuclear agreement.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry announced that the EU’s foreign policy official Joseph Borell will visit Tehran on Friday to study the efforts leading to the revival of the nuclear agreement signed in 2015.
The official spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Sa‘īd Haṭībzāde said that Borrell “will visit Tehran tonight to meet Foreign Minister Ḥosseyn Amīr ‘Abdollahiyān and other officials”.
The Irani Foreign Minister said on Thursday that if the Americans acted “realistically” in the last round of the Vienna talks the states “were closer to an agreement than any time before”.
Talking to the Croatian “Vetserny List” newspaper Amīr ‘Abdollahiyān said that “the Americans put forward new matters in the talks in addition to the agenda possibly reimposing sanctions with no nuclear connection”.
On his behalf, the spokesman of the American State Department Ned Price claimed on Tuesday that “Tehran reduced the time to produce the necessary amount of uranium to producing a nuclear bomb from a year to weeks, or even less”. This is at a time when the ongoing talks between Iran and the international powers to revive the nuclear agreement are frozen.
On 13 May EU’s Foreign Policy Commissioner Josep Borrell announced the relaunch of talks about reviving the nuclear agreement, which experiences a state of being frozen for several years now.
EU mediator Enrique Mora visited Tehran on 11 May and met with leading Chief Iranian negotiator ‘Alī Bāqerī Konnī in what he described as “the last chance to salvage the 2015 agreement”.

وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية تعلن أنّ مسؤول السياسة الخارجية للاتحاد الأوروبي، جوزيب بوريل، سيزور طهران، اليوم، لبحث القضايا العالقة في الاتفاق النووي
أعلنت وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية أنّ مسؤول السياسة الخارجية في الاتحاد الأوروبي، جوزيب بوريل، سيزور طهران، اليوم الجمعة، لبحث الجهود الهادفة إلى إحياء الاتفاق النووي المبرم عام 2015.
وقال الناطق باسم وزارة الخارجية سعيد خطيب زاده، في بيان، إنّ بوريل “سيزور طهران، مساء اليوم، للقاء وزير الخارجية حسين أمير عبد اللهيان، ومسؤولين آخرين”.
وقال وزير الخارجية الإيراني، أمس الخميس، إنّه لو تعامل الأميركيون “بواقعية” في الجولة الأخيرة من مفاوضات فيينا، لكان البلدان “أقرب إلى الاتفاق من أيّ وقت”.
وفي حديث لصحيفة “فتشيرني ليست” الكرواتية، قال أمير عبد اللهيان إنّ “الأميركيين طرحوا قضايا جديدة في المفاوضات لإضافة ملحق عن إمكانية إعادة فرض عقوبات لا تتعلق بالنووي”.
من جانبه، زعم المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية الأميركية نيد برايس، يوم الثلاثاء، أنّ “طهران قلّصت الوقت المتبقي لإنتاج كم اليورانيوم اللازم لصنع سلاح نووي من عام إلى أسابيع وربما أقل”، في وقتٍ يهيمن الجمود على المحادثات بين إيران والقوى الدولية الرامية إلى إحياء الاتفاق النووي.
وفي ـ13 أيار/مايو الماضي، أعلن مسؤول السياسة الخارجية في الاتحاد الأوروبي، جوزيب بوريل، إعادة فتح المفاوضات بشأن إحياء الاتفاق النووي، التي تشهد حالة من الجمود منذ عدة سنوات.
وزار منسق الاتحاد الأوروبي إنريكي مورا طهران في ـ11 أيار/ مايو الماضي، واجتمع مع کبیر المفاوضین الإیرانیین علي باقري كني، في ما وُصف بأنّه “الفرصة الأخيرة لإنقاذ اتفاق 2015
