Secretary of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council ‘Alī Akbar Aḥmadiyān and Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoygu on Wednesday confirmed during their meeting in Tehran the need to strengthen the cooperation and to face the common threats.
The two sides underlined the need to develop the overall relations between Tehran and Moscow and to fight with determination against organized terrorism. Both of them confirmed that foreign interference is the main reason for the shaken security and stability in the region.
They believed that enlarging regional cooperation for social security is one of the most effective components for ending foreign interference.
The Russian Defense Minister also visited the Iranian-produced missiles and drones at an expo in the capital Tehran.
Shoygu visited the expo of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards’ Areal and Aerospace Forces that showcased the products of the republic’s military production complex. During the expo, he got aquatinted by the missile and drone weaponry, in addition to the Iranian-produced air defense systems.
Earlier on Wednesday during a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Moḥammad Reẓā Āštiyānī in Tehran Shoygu underlined that the sanctions against Russia and Iran proved their ineffectiveness, stating that the cooperation with Iran has reached a good level.
On his behalf, Āštiyānī stated that the situation around the world proceeds in a way that is making Iran and Russia build a strong and lasting coalition.
The Russian Defense Minister arrived in the Iranian capital in the afternoon, who is accompanied by a Russian high-level military delegation responding to the official invitation by the Commander of the Iranian Armed Forces General Command Institution Moḥammad Bāqerī.
The official welcoming ceremony for the Russian delegation was held at the Presidential Building of the Iranian Armed Forces General Command.
In August during a visit by an Iranian military delegation to Moscow Russia and Iran had agreed on upgrading the cooperation between the land forces in various fields.
In March Iranian Foreign Minister Ḥosseyn Amīr ‘Abdollahiyān stated that the defense cooperation with Moscow will not be against any parties.

أكد أمين المجلس الأعلى للأمن القومي الإيراني، علي أكبر أحمديان، ووزير الدفاع الروسي، سيرغي شويغو، اليوم الأربعاء، خلال اجتماعهما في طهران، ضرورة تعزيز التعاون ومواجهة التهديدات المشتركة.
وشدد الطرفان على ضرورة تطوير العلاقات الشاملة بين طهران وموسكو ومحاربة الإرهاب المنظم بحسم، مؤكدين أنّ التدخلات الأجنبية هي أكبر مسبب لزعزعة الأمن والاستقرار في المنطقة.
واعتبرا توسيع التعاون الإقليمي لتحقيق الأمن الجماعي أحد السبل الفعالة لإنهاء التدخلات الأجنبية.
وتفقد وزير الدفاع الروسي، الصواريخ والطائرات المسيرة الإيرانية الصنع ضمن معرض في العاصمة طهران.
وزار شويغو معرض القوات الجوية الفضائية التابع لحرس الثورة الإيراني، الذي عرض منتجات المجمع الصناعي العسكري للجمهورية. وتعرف خلال العرض على الأسلحة الصاروخية والطائرات دون طيار، إضافة إلى أنظمة الدفاع الجوي الإيرانية الصنع.
وفي وقت سابق اليوم، شدد شويغو خلال اجتماعٍ مع نظيره الإيراني محمد رضا آشتیاني في طهران، على أنّ العقوبات على روسيا وإيران أثبتت عدم جدواها، معقباً أنّ التعاون مع إيران وصل إلى مستوى جديد.
بدوره، صرّح اشتیاني بأنّ الوضع في العالم يتطوّر بشكلٍ يُحتّم على إيران وروسيا إنشاء تحالف دائم وقوي.
ووصل عصر، أمس الثلاثاء، وزير الدفاع الروسي إلى العاصمة الإيرانية، يرافقه وفد رفيع المستوى من العسكريين الروس، تلبيةً لدعوة رسمية من رئيس هيئة الأركان العامة للقوات المسلحة الإيرانية اللواء محمد باقري.
وأُقيمت مراسم استقبال رسمية للوفد الروسي في المبنى الرئيسي لهيئة الأركان العامة للقوات المسلحة الإيرانية.
وفي آب/ أغسطس الماضي، اتفقت كل من روسيا وإيران على زيادة التعاون بين القوات البرية في مختلف المجالات، وذلك خلال زيارة وفد عسكري إيراني لموسكو.
