On Wednesday Iranian Foreign Minister ‘Abbās ‘Arāqčī in a phone call with his Saudi counterpart Fayṣal ibn Farḥān discussed the regional developments and the latest events of the indirect nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States.
Ibn Farḥān hoped that the current negotiations would continue until a result is reached.
This call comes at a time in which the two sessions of the indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States were held in Muscat and Geneva amidst Tehran’s reassurances about the seriousness of its track and its readiness to provide constructive suggestions.
Saudi Crown Prince Muḥammad ibn Salmān had confirmed during a phone call with Iranian President Mas’ūd Pezeškiyān last month that “Saudi Arabia does not accept any aggression, threat, or causing any turmoil against Iran”, announcing “the readiness of his country for any joint cooperation with Tehran and the rest of the regional states to achieve sustainable peace and security”.
The France Press news agency had reported last month quoting a Saudi official saying that Riyadh, Qatar and the Sultanate of Oman cautioned Washington that attacking Tehran will lead to “dangerous reactions”.
