A Tunisian court issues prison sentences and financial penalties against a group of politicians and media personnel in the so called “Instalingo” case.

A Tunisian court issued a series of prison sentences sentences and financial fees against a group of politicians and media personalities in what is known in the media as the “Instalingo” case that about a digital content creator company and the political and media impact in which journalist and politicians are implicated, most of them from the “an-Nahḍa” Party.

One of the most noticeable sentences was the one against President of the an-Nahḍa” Party Rāšid al-Ġannūšī, who was sentenced to 22 years of prison and the confiscation of his properties according to what his lawyer said, who said that the “sentence is harsh” and she would appeal it.

The judicial sentences against the politicians and the media personnel range between 5 to 35 years of prison, including the son of law of al-Ġannūšī and his daughter.

It should be remembered that the “Instalingo” case had started in September 2021, when a court ordered the detention of 6 people working for a company in the city of al-Qala‘a al-Kubrā (in Sūsa Province) specialized in digital content creation and communications and had been detained for the investigation. This took place after security informations had surfaced about the suspicion that this company would be involved in a network of “attacks against the internal security, money laundering and the defamation of others via the general communication network”.

أصدرت محمكة تونسية مجموعة أحكام بالسجن وغرامات مالية بحقّ مجموعة من السياسيين والإعلاميين. في ما تُعرف إعلامياً بقضية “إنستالينغو”، التي تتعلّق بشركة لصناعة المحتوى الرقمي والتأثير السياسي. والإعلامي، تورّط فيها صحافيون وسياسيون غالبيتهم من حركة “النهضة”.

ومن أبرز الأحكام الصادرة كان الحكم ضدّ رئيس حركة “النهضة”، راشد الغنوشي، الذي حكم عليه. بالسجن مدة 22 عاماً، ومصادرة أملاكه بحسب ما أفادت محاميته، التي قالت إنّ “الحكم قاسٍ” بحقّه، وإنها ستقدّم استئنافاً بشأنه.

وتتراوح الأحكام القضائية بحقّ عدد من السياسيين. والإعلاميين ما بين 5 سنوات و35 سنة، بينهم صهر الغنوشي وابنته.

يذكر أنّ قضية “إنستالينغو” انطلقت منذ أيلول/سبتمبر 2021 حيث أمرت محكمة. بالحبس لـ 6 أشخاص يعملون في شركة بمدينة القلعة الكبرى (ولاية سوسة) مختصة في صناعة المحتوى. والاتصال الرقمي، والاحتفاظ بهم على ذمة التحقيق، وذلك بعد ورود معلومات أمنية بالاشتباه في تورّط هذه. الشركة في شبهة “الاعتداء على أمن الدولة الداخلي وتبييض الأموال والإساءة للغير عبر شبكة الاتصال العامّة
