The Reuters revealed that Washington is pressuring Damascus to send military forces to Eastern Lebanon with the aim of “disarming Ḥizb Allah” and Damascus is reluctant.

5 insightful sources have revealed to the Reuters that “the United States encouraged Syria to look into sending armed forces into Eastern Lebanon to help disarming Ḥizb Allah”.
The sources on the condition of not revealing their identity due to the sensitivity of the matter said that “Damascus is hesitant to engage in such a mission in fear of sliding into a war in the Middle East and into a sectarian conflict”.
Two sources being Syrian officials and two others having insight to the negotiations said that the idea was first discussed between American and Syrian officials last year.
Earlier the Iraqi Islamic Resistance Coordination warned the president of the interim period in Syria Aḥmad aš-Šar‘a that any aggressive action in coordination with the Zionist-American enemy under any pretext against the Lebanese territories, confirming that this “will mean a declaration of war against the whole Axis of Resistance”.
They said: We see the treachery of the new authority in Syria and we follow the coordination with the enemy”. He added: “We say this will full clarity that if your dared to violate the sovereignty of Lebanon and its steadfast and resisting people, we will make your lands open to fire and happens what happens”.
During a Zoom virtual meeting on 9 March aš-Šar‘a by the invitation of the President of the European Commission Antonio Costa stated that he stands “by the side of Lebanese President Joseph ‘Awn to disarm Ḥizb Allah”.

كشفت 5 مصادر مطلعة لـ”رويترز”، أنّ “الولايات المتحدة شجّعت سوريا على النظر في إرسال قوات مسلّحة إلى شرق لبنان للمساعدة في نزع سلاح حزب الله”.
وقالت المصادر شريطة عدم الكشف عن هويتها نظراً لحساسية الموضوع إنّ “دمشق مترددة في الشروع في مثل هذه المهمة خشية الانجرار إلى تأجيج الحرب في الشرق الأوسط، والتوتر الطائفي”.
وقال مصدران، وكلاهما مسؤولان سوريان، ومصدران آخران مطلعان على المناقشات إنّ الفكرة نوقشت لأوّل مرّة بين مسؤولين أميركيين وسوريين العام الماضي.
وفي وقتٍ سابق، حذّرت تنسيقية المقاومة الإسلامية في العراق، رئيس المرحلة الانتقالية في سوريا أحمد الشرع، من أيّ تحرّك عدائي بالتنسيق مع العدو الصهيو-أميركي وتحت أي ذريعة كانت تجاه الأراضي اللبنانية، مؤكدة أن ذلك “سيكون بمثابة إعلان حرب على محور المقاومة بأكمله”.
وقالت: “نحن نرى غدر السلطة الجديدة في سوريا، ونراقب التنسيق مع العدو”، مضيفةً: “نقول بكل وضوح إن تجرأتم على انتهاك سيادة لبنان وشعبه الصابر، المقاوم، فسنجعل من أرضكم ساحة مفتوحة للنار، وقد أُعذر من أنذر”.
وصرّح الشرع في الـ9 من آذار/مارس الجاري، خلال لقاء افتراضي عبر تقنية “زووم”، بدعوة من رئيس المجلس الأوروبي، أنطونيو كوستا، بأنّه يقف “إلى جانب الرئيس اللبناني جوزاف عون بنزع سلاح حزب الله”.
