Syrian President Baššār al-Asad studied the ways to increase the ways of bilateral work both in the public and private sectors and to encourage the joint investments with Iranian Minister of Roads Rostem Qāsemī.
Syrian President Baššār al-Asad with Iranian Minister of Roads Rostem Qāsemī studied the bilateral relations, especially on the economic context, as President al-Asad confirmed the importance of setting up new projects serving the joint strategic interests for Syria and Iran connecting the work sectors in both countries.
The discussion addressed the ways of enlarging the fields of bilateral work in the public and private sectors and to encourage the joint investments with the aim to give a new boost to the trade and economic ties.
On his behalf Minister Qāsemī reiterated the firm position of his country to support the resistance of the Syrian people against the terrorist war it is facing, and also its insistence to enlarge the cooperation between the two countries in all fields serving the interests of the two brotherly nations.
On his behalf Syrian Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Fayṣal al-Miqdād studied with Qāsemī a matters with interest for both countries, confirming the necessity to enhance the economic relations between the two in order to improve the common political relations.
Minister Qāsemī also confirmed the brotherly relations that bring the two countries and the Syrian and Iranian peoples together, pointing out the insistence of the two sides to strive for bigger true economic and trade partnership, and also that his visit aims to discuss and negotiate the matters connected to set the economic relations in motion, including the land and trade connections, how to increase the air travels between the two countries and also how to set the project into motion to transport goods and services and increase the trade exchange between the two.

The meeting was also attended by Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Baššār al-Ğa‘farī, Deputy Director for Afro-Asian administration Qusay Muṣṭafā and Iḥsān ar-Rummān from the Minister’s office, also from the Iranian side Raḥmat ‘Ārefī, Deputy Minister of Roads and Public Constructions, Iranian Ambassador to Damascus Mehdī Subḥānī and members of the accompanying delegation.

الرئيس السوري بشار الأسد يبحث مع وزير الطرق الإيراني رستم قاسمي سبل توسيع مجالات العمل الثنائي في القطاعين العام والخاص وتشجيع الاستثمارات المشتركة
بحث الرئيس السوري بشار الأسد مع وزير الطرق الإيراني رستم قاسمي العلاقات الثنائية وخاصة على الصعيد الاقتصادي، حيث أكد الرئيس الأسد أهمية إقامة مشاريع جديدة تحقق المنفعة الاستراتيجية المشتركة لسوريا وإيران وتربط بين قطاع الأعمال في كلا البلدين.
كما تناول الحديث سبل توسيع مجالات العمل الثنائي في القطاعين العام والخاص وتشجيع الاستثمارات المشتركة بهدف إعطاء دفعة جديدة للرواب التجارية والاقتصادية.
من جهته، جدد الوزير قاسمي التأكيد على الموقف الثابت لبلاده في دعم صمود الشعب السوري في وجه الحرب الإرهابية التي يتعرض لها وحرصها على توسيع التعاون بين البلدين في كل المجالات التي تخدم مصالح الشعبين الصديقين.
بدروه، بحث فيصل المقداد وزير الخارجية والمغتربين وقاسمي القضايا ذات الاهتمام المشترك بين البلدين، مؤكداً ضرورة الارتقاء بالعلاقات الاقتصادية بينهما كي تواكب مستوى تطور العلاقات السياسية المشتركة.
كما أكّد الوزير قاسمي على العلاقات الأخوية التي تجمع البلدين والشعبين الإيراني والسوري، لافتاً إلى عزم الجانبين السعي لبلوغ الشراكة الاقتصادية والتجارية الحقيقية، وأن زيارته تهدف إلى التشاور ومناقشة القضايا المتعلقة بتفعيل العلاقات الاقتصادية، ولا سيما الربط البري والبحري وزيادة عدد الرحلات الجوية بين البلدين، وتفعيل عملية انتقال السلع والخدمات وزيادة حجم التبادل التجاري بينهما.
