Qatar refused to hand over the presidency of the Arab League after Palestine left the presidency of the normal session of the Arab League Congress in response to the announcement of Emirati and Bahraini normalization with “Israel”.
Qatar refused to hand over the presidency of the Arab League instead of the Palestinian State, which left the presidency of the normal session of the League’s congress on the ministerial level, in response to the Emirati and Bahraini normalization with Tel Aviv.
Qatar confirmed that it holds on to its right in the presidency of the next session, according to the structural order to name the countries Doha was chosen, based on the internal order of the League of Arab States.
The Qatari refusal comes only days after the spokeswoman of the Qatari Foreign Ministry Lūluwa al-Hāṭir reminded that her country will not join those Gulf states, which created diplomatic relations with “Israel”, until a solution was made for the struggle with the Palestinians.
In a talk with the “Bloomberg” agency, she pointed out that solution cannot come via normalization, and that the center of the matter is about the harsh conditions in which the Palestinians live, as people without a homeland, and their sufferings under the cruelty of the occupation.
Qatar hasn’t announced normalization with “Israel”, as the Emirates and Bahrain did. The Israeli media suggested that certain sides in the Gulf said to the Israel “KAN” radio that American pressure is posed upon Qatar to agree to the normalization of relations with “Israel” on official capacity in exchange of canceling the boycott by Saudi-Arabia, Egypt, the Emirates, and Bahrain. According to the media Qatar has until now refused to connect the two matters.
Other sides in the Gulf also revealed to the mentioned radio that Qatar fears to touch the matter of open normalization with “Israel” with is a position with the Palestinian circles.
Connected to the stance of the Arab League about the Emirati and Bahraini normalization with the Israeli occupation Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyāḍ al-Mālikī said: “The position of the Arab League stepping over the normalization with the occupation is not an honor for us during our presidency for the Arab League”. Thus announcing that Palestine decided to leave its position of the presidency for the normal session of the Arab League.
The Palestinian decision comes after the announcement of the Arab League that the ministerial Arab League meeting “did not reach a conclusion about the project of the Palestinian decision to renounce the normalization of relations between “Israel” and the Emirates.
“Ḥamās” considered that the decision, by which Palestine gives up its right to preside over the current normal session of the Arab League congress is a clear protesting message for the policies of the League, and stressed that the latter has gone astray from its course.
The results of the meeting have met with widespread Palestinian criticism, as different factions and Palestinian powers held that the stance of the Arab League will open the way for other states to normalization with the Israeli occupation.
It should be mentioned that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the Emirates, and Egypt announced severing diplomatic connections with the State of Qatar in 2017, making accusations against Doha that harbors terrorism, undermines the stability of the region, and does not comply with the Riyadh Agreement.

قطر ترفض تسلّم رئاسة الجامعة، بعد تخلّي فلسطين عن رئاسة الدورة العادية لمجلس الجامعة العربية ردّاً على إعلان التطبيع الإماراتي والبحريني مع “إسرائيل
رفضت قطر تسلّم رئاسة جامعة الدول العربية بديلاً من دولة فلسطين التي تخلّت عن رئاسة الدورة العادية لمجلس الجامعة على المستوى الوزاري، ردّاً على إعلان التطبيع الإماراتي والبحريني مع تل أبيب
قطر أكّدت تمسّكها بحقها في الرئاسة للدورة المقبلة، فيما جاء اختيار الدوحة وفق الترتيب الهجائي لأسماء الدول، واستناداً إلى النظام الداخلي لمجلس جامعة الدول العربية
موقف الدوحة جاء بعد أيام من ذكر المتحدثة باسم وزارة الخارجية القطرية لولوة الخاطر أن بلادها لن تنضم إلى دول الخليج في إقامة علاقات دبلوماسية مع “إسرائيل” حتى يتم حل النزاع مع الفلسطينيين
وأشارت في حديث لوكالة “بلومبيرغ” الى أن الحل لا يمكن أن يكون بالتطبيع، وأن جوهر الصراع هو حول الظروف القاسية التي يعيشها الفلسطينيون كأشخاص من دون وطن ومعاناتهم تحت وطأة الاحتلال
وفيما لم تعلن قطر التطبيع مع “إسرائيل” كالإمارات والبحرين، تحدثت وسائل إعلام إسرائيلية أن جهات في الخليج قالت لاذاعة “كان” الإسرائيلية إن ضغوطاً أميركية تمارس على قطر للموافقة على تطبيع العلاقات مع “إسرائيل” بصورة رسمية مقابل إلغاء المقاطعة من قبل السعودية مصر الامارات والبحرين. ووفق وسائل الإعلام فإن قطر حتى الآن ترفض ربط القضيتين
كما كشفت جهات أُخرى في الخليج للإذاعة المذكورة أن قطر تخشى من أن يمسّ اتفاق تطبيع علني مع “إسرائيل” بمكانتها في أوساط الفلسطينيين
وتعليقاً على موقف جامعة الدول العربيّة من التطبيع الإماراتي والبحريني مع الاحتلال الإسرائيلي، قال وزير الخارجية الفلسطيني رياض المالكي “لا يشرفنا رؤية الدول العربية تهرول للتطبيع مع الاحتلال خلال رئاستنا لمجلس الجامعة”، معلناً أنّ فلسطين قررت التخلي عن دورها كرئيس للدورة الحاليّة لجامعة الدول العربية
القرار الفلسطيني جاء بعد إعلان جامعة الدول العربية أن الاجتماع الوزاري لمجلس الجامعة “لم يتوصل لتوافق حول مشروع القرار الفلسطيني لرفض الاتفاق على تطبيع العلاقات بين إسرائيل والإمارات
“حماس” اعتبرت أن قرار تخلي فلسطين عن حقها في ترؤس مجلس جامعة الدول العربية بدورته الحالية، رسالة احتجاج واضحة على سياسة الجامعة، وتشدد على أن الأخيرة انحرفت عن مسارها.
نتائج الاجتماع لاقت استنكاراً فلسطينيّاً واسعاً، حيث اعتبرت مختلف الفصائل والقوى الفلسطينية، أنّ موقف الجامعة العربية سيفسح المجال لدول أخرى للتطبيع مع الاحتلال الإسرائيلي
