Mauritanian Prime Minister Muḥammad Walad Bilāl once again forms a new government in the country and this comes after only days from resigning and being reappointed.
According to what came in the presidential decree, Mauritanian President Muḥammad Walad aš-Šayh al-Ġazwānī on Thursday appointed the members of the new government, which witnessed a number of changes in faces.
Mauritanian Prime Minister Muḥammad Walad Bilāl handed in his resignation on Tuesday, before getting tasked once again on Wednesday to form a new government.
Muḥammad Sālim Walad Marzūk became the new Foreign Minister leaving behind the post Interior Minister, which was taken by Muḥammad Aḥmad Walad Muḥammad al-Amīn. Previously he was the director of the Presidential Office.
With the ascendence of the new government, ministers are leaving their posts, while new faces came forth. The ministers filling key positions remained in their posts, like the Minister of Justice or the Minister of Islamic Affairs.
The new government is made up of 4 women instead of the 6 in the now leaving government.
Al-Ġazwānī appointed Yaḥyā Walad Aḥmad al-Wāqif to the post of Minister Secretary-General for the Presidency. Al-Wāqif was the Prime Minister in the era of President Sīdī Walad aš-Šayh ‘Abd Allah, who was deposed in a coup in 2009.
Upon announcing the decree to form a new government al-Wāqif explained that this change came “solely” from the president to pour new life into the governmental work and raise the standard of the administration, its expediency, and closeness to the citizens.

رئيس الوزراء الموريتاني محمد ولد بلال يعيد تشكيل حكومة جديدة في البلاد، وذلك بعد أيام من استقالته وإعادة تكليفه
عيّن الرئيس الموريتاني محمد ولد الشيخ الغزواني، يوم أمس الخميس، أعضاء حكومته الجديدة التي شهدت تغيير عدد من الوجوه، وفق ما جاء في مرسوم رئاسي.
وقدّم رئيس الوزراء محمد ولد بلال، يوم الثلاثاء، استقالته قبل إعادة تكليفه يوم الأربعاء بتشكيل الحكومة الجديدة
وأصبح محمد سالم ولد مرزوك وزيراً جديداً للخارجية، تاركاً منصب وزير الداخلية الذي حلّ محله محمد أحمد ولد محمد الأمين، الذي كان مديراً لديوان رئيس الجمهورية.
وتتميز الحكومة الجديدة بمغادرة وزراء مناصبهم وبروز وجوه جديدة. وبقي وزراء مكلفون بحقائب سيادية في مناصبهم، من بينهم وزيرا العدل والشؤون الإسلامية.
وتضم الحكومة الجديدة 4 نساء مقابل 6 في الفريق الحكومي السابق.
وعيّنَ الغزواني يحيى ولد أحمد الواقف في منصب الوزير الأمين العام لرئاسة الجمهورية. وكان الواقف رئيساً للوزراء في عهد الرئيس سيدي ولد الشيخ عبد الله الذي أطاحه انقلاب في العام 2009.
وأوضح الواقف، خلال تلاوته مرسوم تشكيل الحكومة الجديدة، أنّ هذا التغيير جاء “حرصاً” من الرئيس على ضخ دماء جديدة في عمل الحكومة ورفع مستوى أداء الإدارة وكفاءتها وقربها من المواطن
