Director of the Central Command Michael Corila said: “We closely monitor the situation. We have a number of methods that allow us to eliminate the threats in the whole region. We are completely confident in our capabilities to protect our our forces and those of our allies from the attacks like these”.
According to Corila the “talks revolve around the two attacks that have happened at night in Syrian time in the vicinity of the bases Green Village and Kūnūkū”.
He added: “in one of the incidents Iran backed group took part and a portion of them got eliminated in an airstrike”.

The American army announced on Wednesday the injury of an American soldiers, as they described it “lightly” following the missile attacks his position suffered at the Kūnīkū oilfield in Dayr at-Zūr.
It pointed out that “its attack helicopters bombarded the areas that belonged to the Tehran supported groups that bombarded its forces”, thus pointing out that its response led to the killing of “two or three people”.
The SANA news agency had added before that “two bases of the American occupation at the oilfields of al-‘Umar and Kūnīkū in Dayr az-Zūr suffered missile bombardment attacks”.
According to the agency local sources said that “a number of missiles exploded today within the two military bases of the American occupation forces, while also huge columns of smoke were seen from the area”.
The sources pointed out that “the American occupation forces locked down the area and it is not known whether injured or deaths have fallen in the lines of the occupation forces, while the planes of the occupation heavily circulated in the area’s skies”.
Iran: The American presence in Syria is a breach of international law
On its own behalf the Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned the American aggressions against Syria and denied “that the groups opposing the American occupation and suffered the strikes would be linked to Iran”.
The official spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Nāṣer Kan‘ānī stated that “the aggressions of the American army against the people and the infrastructure in Syria embodies a breach of sovereignty against Syria, its independence and territorial integrity”.
Kan‘ānī described this new aggression “as a terrorist act against the popular groups fighting against the occupation”. He also denied that these groups would linked to Iran.
The Kūnīkū filed counts to be one of the biggest natural gas fields in Syria, as its output is around 10 million cubic meter daily.
The American forces bombarded positions in Dayr az-Zūr province claiming them to belong to auxiliary forces. It said that the attack came as a response to the previous attacks against the al-‘Umar oilfield where the American army established its biggest illegal base in Syria.

أعلنت القيادة المركزية الأميركية إصابة 3 عسكريين أميركيين نتيجة قصف صاروخي تعرّضت له منشآت العسكريين شمال شرقي سوريا.
وقال رئيس القيادة مايكل كوريلا: “نتابع الوضع من كثب. لدينا العديد من الوسائل التي تسمح لنا بكبح التهديدات في المنطقة كلها. نحن واثقون ثقة تامة بإمكانياتنا بحماية قواتنا وشركائنا في التحالف من مثل هذه الهجمات”.
ووفقاً لكوريلا، فإنَّ “الحديث يدور حول هجومين وقعا مساءً بتوقيت سوريا قرب قاعدتي غرين فيلاج وكونوكو”.
وأضاف: “في إحدى الحادثتين، شارك مقاتلون مدعومون من إيران، وتمت تصفية جزء منهم في قصف”.
وكان الجيش الأميركي أعلن الأربعاء إصابة جندي بجروح وصفها بـ”الطفيفة” من جرّاء الهجوم الصاروخي الذي تعرّضت له مواقعه في حقل كونيكو في دير الزور.
وأشار إلى أنَّ “مروحيات هجومية تابعة له أغارت على مواقع تابعة لمجموعات مدعومة من طهران قصفت قواته”، مشيراً إلى أن ردّه هذا أدى إلى مقتل “شخصين أو ثلاثة”.
وأفادت وكالة “سانا” في وقت سابق بأن “قاعدتين عسكريتين للاحتلال الأميركي في حقلي العمر وكونيكو النفطيين في ريف دير الزور تعرضتا لهجوم بالقذائف الصاروخية”.
وقالت مصادر أهلية بحسب الوكالة، إنَّ “عدة قذائف صاروخية سقطت اليوم داخل القاعدتين العسكريتين لقوات الاحتلال الأميركي، حيث شوهد تصاعد أعمدة الدخان من المكان”.
وأشارت المصادر إلى أن “قوات الاحتلال الأميركي أغلقت المنطقة، ولم يعرف إذا خلّف الهجوم إصابات أو قتلى في صفوف قوات الاحتلال، وسط تحليق مكثف لطيران الاحتلال في أجواء المنطقة”.
إيران: الوجود الأميركي في سوريا مخالف للقوانين الدولية
من جهتها، دانت وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية الاعتداء الأميركي على سوريا، ونفت أن تكون “المجموعات المناوئة للاحتلال الأميركي التي طالها القصف على صلة بإيران”.
واعتبر المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية ناصر كنعاني أن “اعتداء الجيش الأميركي على الشعب والبنية التحتية في سوريا… يشكّل انتهاكاً لسيادة سوريا واستقلالها وسلامة أراضيها”.
ووصف كنعاني هذا العدوان الجديد “بالعمل الإرهابي ضدّ المجموعات الشعبية والمقاتلين ضد الاحتلال”، ونفى أن يكون لهذه المجموعات أي ارتباط بإيران.
ويعد حقل “كونيكو” أكبر حقول الغاز الطبيعي في سوريا، ويقدر إنتاجه بنحو 10 ملايين متر مكعب من الغاز الطبيعي يومياً.
وكانت القوات الأميركية قامت بقصف مواقع في محافظة دير الزور زعمت أنها تتبع للقوات الرديفة، وقالت إن القصف جاء رداً على هجمات سابقة طالت حقل العمر النفطي الذي يتخذه الجيش الأميركي كأكبر القواعد العسكرية غير الشرعية له في سوريا
