Tunisian security and media sources report that a Tunisian special task force apprehended former an-Nahḍa Movement leadership member al-Ḥabīb al-Lawz in the city of Sfax in the middle of the country for his involvement in transporting Tunisians to fight in Syria.
On Wednesday the correspondent of al-Mayadeen in Tunisia reported former an-Nahḍa Movement leadership member al-Ḥabīb al-Lawz based on the case of transporting young men to Syria.
Tunisian security and media sources said that “a Tunisian special task force apprehended former an-Nahḍa Movement leadership member al-Ḥabīb al-Lawz in the city of Sfax in the middle of the country. That happened in the context of an ongoing investigation about a case of transporting young men to fight in Syria”.
It should be pointed out that al-Lawz is accused as he was a prominent agitator for fighting in Syria in the first years following the fall of the leadership of Zayn al-‘Ābidīn ibn ‘Alī.
A few weeks ago the Tunisian judiciary opened a large-scale investigation about the case of transporting young men to the middle of the turmoil to join terrorist groups including 126 people. This case went on between 2011 and 2013.
The security services until now have detained a number of political and security leaders close to the an-Nahḍa Movement, including businessman and former an-Nahḍa Movement MP Muḥammad al-Farīha for the suspicion of the “Sfax Airlines” company he owns was involved in the transportation of young Tunisians into Turkey before they would arrive into Iraq and Syria to join the terrorist organizations.
Aside from a number of security leaders, the same way a former leading member of the “Dignity Coalition” and former MP Muḥammad al-‘Affās before releasing him and keeping him under investigation, and also former MP Riḍā al-Ğawādī, whose detainment was extended.
According to the Tunisian Anti-Terrorist Committee in 2019 “a number of Tunisians in the middle of the struggle reached up to 3 thousand men, and from them, 1000 terrorist members have returned. That all went on from 2011 until October 2018”.
Tunisia formed a parliamentary committee in 2017 about the networks that were involved in the recruiting of young Tunisians and transporting them into the centers of the “center of turmoil” around the world.

مصادر أمنية وإعلامية تونسية تفيد بأنّ فرقة تونسية خاصة ألقت القبض على القيادي السابق في حركة النهضة، الحبيب اللوز، في مدينة صفاقس، وسط البلاد؛ لتورطه في تسفير تونسيين للقتال في سوريا
أفاد مراسل الميادين في تونس، اليوم الأربعاء، بتوقيف القيادي السابق في حركة النهضة التونسية، الحبيب اللوز، على خلفية ملف نقل شباب للقتال في سوريا.
وقالت مصادر أمنية وإعلامية تونسية إنّ “فرقة خاصة ألقت القبض على القيادي السابق في حركة النهضة، الحبيب اللوز، في مدينة صفاقس وسط البلاد، وذلك في إطار التحقيقات الجارية بخصوص ملف تسفير شباب للقتال في سوريا”.
يُشار إلى أنّ اللوز يتهم بكونه من أبرز المحرّضين على القتال في سوريا، في السنوات الأولى التي أعقبت سقوط نظام زين العابدين بن علي.
ومنذ أسابيع، فتح القضاء التونسي تحقيقاً واسعاً في ملف تسفير الشباب إلى بؤر التوتر للالتحاق بالمجموعات الإرهابية، شمل 126 شخصاً، وهو الملف الذي ازدهر بين سنوات 2011 و2013.
وأوقفت الأجهزة الأمنية إلى حدّ الآن، قيادات سياسية وأمنية عدّة، مقرّبة من حركة النهضة، من بينها رجل الأعمال والنائب السابق لحركة النهضة محمد فريخة، لوجود شبهة في تورط شركة “سيفاكس أيرلاينز” التي يمتلكها في تسفير الشباب التونسي إلى تركيا قبل وصولهم إلى العراق وسوريا للانضمام إلى التنظيمات الإرهابية.
وكذلك اعتقل كل من القيادي في “ائتلاف الكرامة” والنائب السابق في البرلمان محمد العفاس قبل إطلاق سراحه وإبقائه على ذمّة القضيّة، وأيضاً النائب السابق رضا الجوادي، الذي تمّ التمديد في الاحتفاظ به، إلى جانب قيادات أمنية عدّة.
ووفق اللجنة التونسية لمكافحة الإرهاب، في 2019، فإنّ “عدد التونسيين في بؤر الصراع بلغ نحو 3 آلاف، عاد منهم إلى تونس 1000 عنصر إرهابي، وذلك منذ 2011 وحتى تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 2018”.
