The reporter of al-Mayadeen today, on Monday reported that a number of arrestees are still are still gathered in front of the Tunisian parliament’s building in result of the latest events witnessed in the country.
She also reported that President Sa‘īd confirmed that the decisions, which he took were done in consultation with the head of the government and the Speaker of the Parliament. Thus he confirmed that the an-Nahḍa Movement called upon his supporters to take the streets.
The streets of the Tunisian capital on Sunday evening witnessed a large number of citizens occupying them celebrating the decisions of the Tunisian President Qays Sa‘īd, as he stopped the work of the Parliament and deposed Prime Minister Hišām al-Mašīšī in result of the protests the country witnessed in a number of cities.
After announcing that he took a number of major decisions Tunisian President Qays Sa‘īd took the al-Ḥabīb Būrqība street with a number of officials of the presidential office amidst massive security and military reinforcements.
The visit by Sa‘īd was accompanied by chants supporting his latest decisions to freeze the work of the Parliament and depose the government, as the citizens raised slogans criticizing the MPs and the an-Nahḍa Movement.
Speaker of the Parliament Rāšid al-Ġannūšī trenched himself in front of the Parliament, which is surrounded by the army.
Shortly before these events the reporter of al-Mayadeen reported on the army troops taking positions in the Tunisian capital, and pointed out that the headquarters of the an-Nahḍa Movement was burned down in the at-Taḍāmum district at the outskirts of the Tunisian capital.
Our reporter in Tunis confirmed the ongoing confusion around the Parliament building between the those supporting the President, while others of al-Ġannūšī. She added that the supporters of al-Ġannūšī are calling for people to take the streets, after he was prohibited from entering the building.
The protestors started to throw stones at the car of the Speaker of the Tunisian Parliament Rāšid al-Ġannūšī in front of the Parliament, which led to the break of its windows. Local sources also said that al-Ġannūšī decided to trench himself in front of the Parliament building after he was prohibited from entering.
The reporter of al-Mayadeen said that the office of the Prime Minister was also closed down and was vacated from the clerks, while army units were charged to safeguard it.
The headquarters of the an-Nahḍa Movement in al-Mahdiyya south of Tunis was also attacked and was burned from the inside. According to our reporter tear gas was fired upon central headquarters of the an-Nahḍa Movement in the center of the Tunisian capital.
At the same time the President’s office called upon the people to “be aware and not to be overwhelmed by calls for chaos”.
The reaction of the Tunisian parties to the decision of Sa‘īd
On its behalf the Qalb Tūnis [Heart of Tunisia] Block said that the decisions taken are in breach of the constitution and brings back the state to a one-person rule.
The Democratic Current in Tunisia commented the recent events putting “the necessary responsibility upon the ruling coalition lead by the an-Nahḍa Movement and the government of al-Mašīšī”.
The Democratic Current pointed out that it disagrees with the President enacting section 80 of the constitution and renouncing the action by the President enacting section 80 with decisions and measures being beyond the constitution.
It should be remembered that the President’s office announced the dismissal of Prime Minister Hišām al-Mašīšī from his post and the freeze of the National Assembly’s work for 30 days.
At the same time armored army vehicles sieged the National Assembly’s building shortly before the Tunisian Prime Minister Hišām al-Mašīšī left the Carthage Palace of the President.
The Tunisian army previously have prevented the Speaker of the Parliament Rāšid al-Ġannūšī, his deputy and a number of MPs to enter the Parliament building in a time when Tunis witnesses a heavy deployment of the army, which is surrounding the Parliament building.
Sources to al-Mayadeen confirmed that all MPs and state officials were prevented from traveling by decision of President Sa‘īd, while protestors attacked a number of headquarters of the an-Nahḍa Movement and burned the contents there.
In a phone conversation with al-Mayadeen member of the Tunisian Parliament and a leading member of the an-Nahḍa Movement Muḥammad al-Qawmānī said that the Parliament was called together to have a regular session describing what happens in Tunisia as a coup d’etat.
Previously yesterday the Tunisian an-Nahḍa Movement held a press conference about the events of Sunday in Tunis. Leading member of the Movement ‘Alī al-‘Arīḍ said: “we took a huge breath not to respond to the aggression with aggression and we trust the state institutions”.

أفادت مراسلة الميادين، اليوم الإثنين، أن أعداداً من المحتجين لا تزال محتشدة أمام مبنى البرلمان التونسي، على خلفية الأحداث الأخيرة التي تشهدها البلاد.
وأضافت أن الرئيس سعيد أكد أن القرارات التي اتخذها تمت بالتشاور مع رئيسي الحكومة والبرلمان، مؤكدةً أن حركة النهضة دعت أنصارها إلى النزول إلى الشارع.
وشهدت شوارع العاصمة التونسية، مساء الأحد، نزولاً لعدد من المواطنين، احتفالاً بقرارات الرئيس التونسي قيس سعيد، حيث جمَّد عمل البرلمان وأقال رئيس الوزراء هشام المشيشي على خلفية الاحتجاجات التي شهدتها عدة مدن.
وبعد إعلانه اتخاذ جملة من القرارات المهمة، تحول الرئيس التونسي قيس سعيد إلى شارع الحبيب بورقيبة بصحبة مسؤولين في الديوان الرئاسي وسط تعزيزات أمنية وعسكرية مكثّفة.
وقد رافقت جولة سعيد هتافات مؤيّدة لقراراته الأخيرة بتجميد عمل البرلمان وإقالة الحكومة، حيث رفع المواطنون شعارات مناوئةً للنواب ولحركة النهضة.
واعتصم رئيس مجلس النواب التونسي راشد الغنوشي أمام البرلمان المطوّق من الجيش.
وعقب هذه الأحداث، أفادت مراسلة الميادين بانتشار عناصر الجيش في العاصمة التونسية، مشيرةً إلى حرق مقر حركة النهضة في حي التضامن بضواحي العاصمة التونسية.
وأكدت مراسلتنا في تونس، استمرار التوتر في محيط مقر البرلمان بين مؤيدين للرئيس وآخرين للغنوشي، مضيفةً أن أنصار الغنوشي يدعون إلى النزول إلى الشارع بعد منعه من دخول البرلمان.
وقام محتجون برشق سيارة رئيس البرلمان التونسي راشد الغنوشي أمام البرلمان بالحجارة ما أدى إلى تحطيم زجاجها، وقالت مصادر محلية إن الغنوشي قرر الاعتصام أمام مقر البرلمان بعد منعه من دخوله.
وقالت مراسلة الميادين إنه تم اغلاق مقر رئاسة الحكومة واخلاؤه من الموظفين وتكليف وحدات من الجيش بحمايته.
كما تم اقتحام مقر حركة النهضة بالمهدية جنوب تونس وحرق محتوياته، وبحسب مراسلتنا، تم إطلاق الغاز المسيل للدموع قرب المقر المركزي لحركة النهضة وسط العاصمة التونسية.
وبالتزامن، دعت الرئاسة التونسية الشعب إلى “الانتباه وعدم الانزلاق وراء دعاة الفوضى”.
ردود فعل الأحزاب التونسية على قرار سعيّد
من جهتها، قالت كتلة قلب تونس إن القرارات المتخذة خرق للدستور ورجوع بالجمهورية للحكم الفردي.
وعلق التيار الديمقراطي في تونس على الأحداث الأخيرة، محملاً “مسؤولية الأزمة للائتلاف الحاكم بقيادة حركة النهضة وحكومة المشيشي”.
ولفت التيار الديمقراطي إلى أنه يختلف مع تأويل الرئيس للفصل 80 من الدستور، رافضاً ما يترتب عن تأويل الرئيس للفصل 80 من قرارات وإجراءات خارج الدستور.
يذكر أن الرئاسة أعلنت إعفاء رئيس الحكومة هشام المشيشي من منصبه، وتجميد عمل المجلس النيابي واختصاصاته لمدة 30 يوماً.
هذا وحاصرت مدرعات الجيش مجلس نواب الشعب، قبيل مغادرة رئيس الوزراء التونسي هشام المشيشي قصر قرطاج الرئاسي.
وكان الجيش التونسي قد منع في وقت سابق رئيس البرلمان راشد الغنوشي ونائبته وعدداً من النواب من دخول مبنى البرلمان، في وقت شهدت فيه تونس انتشاراً مكثّفاً للجيش الذي طوّق مبنى البرلمان.
وفيما أكدت مصادر للميادين منع جميع النواب والمسؤولين في الدولة من السفر بقرار من الرئيس سعيّد، اقتحم محتجّون عدداً من مقار حركة النهضة وأحرقوا محتوياتها.
وفي اتصال مع الميادين، قال العضو في البرلمان التونسي والقيادي في حركة النهضة محمد القوماني إن البرلمان مدعو إلى الانعقاد اليوم بصورة طبيعية، واصفاً ما يجري في تونس بالانقلاب.
وفي وقت سابق أمس، عقدت حركة “النهضة” التونسية مؤتمراً صحافياً على خلفية أحداث يوم الأحد، في تونس. وقال القيادي في الحركة علي العريض “إننا ضبطنا أنفسنا حتى لا نردّ على العنف بالعنف، ونعوّل على مؤسسات الدولة”.
