The Malian Ministry of Defense in Mali receives military equipment and modern helicopters and radars from Moscow to combat terrorism. The Ministry says that the delivery of weapons is “the fruit of devoted and long-lasting partnership” between the two countries.
The government in Mali, which is ruled by the “Military Council” received fighting helicopters to support its army in the fight against terrorism ongoing for years in the country.
The Mali Ministry of Defense mentioned on its website that the new delivery “is a fruit of the devoted and long-lasting partnership” with Moscow. The details of the conditions by which the delivery of weapons was arranged were not revealed.
The ministry explained that the delivery included “modern combat helicopters and radars, and a lot of other materials necessary for combating terrorism and extremism”.
On Wednesday night Defense Minister Sadiou Kamara officially received two helicopters, a radar installation, and other military materials that arrived by a Russian cargo plane at the military base at Bamako airport.
Colonel Kamara said that the materials included a “TI-6N59” type radar capable “to reveal 3D objects flying with a speed up to 8000 km/h”.
He added: “Today we can proudly say that our army is capable to operate independently and completely without asking for help from anyone”. Thus pointing out the areal support provided by the foreign, especially the French forces.
This new military delivery contains four other helicopters and weapons provided by Russia.
Russia granted “the ruling military council” in Mali with what is officially designated as military trainers. France says that these people belong to the “Wagner” Russian military company known to be close to President Vladimir Putin.
The closeness between the two militaries in Mali and the Kremlin forced the French troops with their European allies to announce the withdrawal of their forces from this country in February. Also the broadcast of the French international radio and “France 24” was stopped after they shared false information about the army.
It should be mentioned that Mali was among the 35 countries, which refrained from voting in favor of the resolution in the U.N. General Assembly in March, which condemned the special Russian military operation in Ukraine.

وزارة الدفاع المالية في مالي تتسلم من موسكو معدات عسكرية ومروحيات قتالية ورادارات حديثة لمكافحة الارهاب، والوزارة تقول إنّ شحنة الأسلحة هي “ثمرة شراكة مخلصة وطويلة الأمد” بين البلدين
تسلّمت الحكومة في مالي، التي يسيطر عليها “المجلس العسكري”، مروحيّات قتالية لدعم جيشها في مكافحة القتال الدامي المستمر منذ سنين في البلاد.
وذكرت وزارة الدفاع المالية على موقعها الالكتروني أنّ الشحنة الجديدة “ثمرة شراكة مخلصة وطويلة الأمد” مع موسكو. ولم يتم الكشف عن تفاصيل الشروط التي تمّ بموجبها إرسال الأسلحة.
وأوضحت الوزارة أنّ الشحنة تتضمن “مروحيات قتالية ورادارات حديثة، والكثير من المواد الأخرى اللازمة لمكافحة الإرهاب والتطرف”.
وتسلّم وزير الدفاع ساديو كامارا رسمياً، مساء أمس الأربعاء، مروحيتين وجهاز رادار، ومعدات عسكرية أخرى، وصلت على متن طائرة شحن روسية إلى قاعدة عسكرية في مطار باماكو.
وقال الكولونيل كامارا إنّ المعدات تتضمن رادار “59 إن 6 – تي إي” بوسعه “اكتشاف الأجسام ثلاثية الأبعاد التي تطير بسرعة تصل إلى 8000 كلم في الساعة”.
وأضاف: “اليوم بوسعنا القول بفخر إنّ جيشنا قادر على التعامل بشكل مستقلّ وبشكل كامل من دون طلب مساعدة أحد”، في إشارة إلى الدعم الجوّي الذي توفره القوات الأجنبية وخصوصاً فرنسا.
وتنضم هذه الشحنة العسكرية الجديدة لأربع مروحيات أخرى وأسلحة وفّرتها روسيا.
وزودت روسيا “المجلس العسكري الحاكم” في مالي بما يطلق عليه رسمياً مدربين عسكريين، وهم أفراد تقول فرنسا إنهم تابعون لشركة “فاغنر” العسكرية الروسية المعروفة بقربها من الرئيس فلاديمير بوتين.
ودفع التقارب بين العسكريين في مالي والكرملين، القوات الفرنسية وحلفاءها الأوربيين لإعلان سحب قواتهم من هذا البلد في شباط/فبراير الفائت. كما توقف بث راديو فرنسا الدولي و”فرانس 24″، بعد نشر أخبار مغلوطة عن الجيش.
يذكر أنّ مالي كانت من ضمن 35 بلداً امتنعت عن التصويت على قرار للجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة في آذار/مارس، إدانة العملية العسكرية الروسية الخاصة في أوكرانيا
