The American administration commented on the Russian airstrikes against the armed groups in Syria.

The United States of America expressed its strong condemnation about the strikes of Russia on Monday on the armed terrorist groups with the “Faylaq aš-Šām [Aš-Šām Battalion]” at the top of the list, which resulted in the death and injury of more than hundreds of its members.
The American special envoy to the Syrian case James Jeffrey said in a statement published by the newspaper of the American embassy in Damascus yesterday, on Tuesday, that they are quite concerned from the present situation and the ceasefire breaches in Idlib.
According to his expression, the American envoy expressed that this behavior will prolong the struggle and deepen the suffering of the Syrian people.
Jeffrey claimed that the Syrian government and its allies in the region are threatening the stability of the region by still trying to achieve military victory, according to his words.
Thus underscoring that the only way to achieve peace and stability for the Syrian people is by the implementation of resolution 2254 by the UN Security Council.
The American envoy in his statement called for a countrywide immediate ceasefire in Syria in accordance with resolution 2254 in which was supported by U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres and Syrian special envoy Geir Pedersen.

علقت الادارة الاميركية على قصف الطائرات الروسية للجماعات المسلحة في سوريا
فقد عبّرت الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية عن إدانتها الشديدة لقصف روسيا يوم الإثنين للجماعات المسلحة الارهابية وعلى راسها ـ”فيلق الشام” والذي أسفر عن مقتل وجرح أكثر من مئة عنصر من افرادها
وقال المبعوث الأمريكي الخاص بالملف السوري جيمس جيفري في بيان نشرته صفحة السفارة الأمريكية في دمشق يوم امس الثلاثاء إنهم قلقون للغاية من الاوضاع الجارية وانتهاك اطلاق النار في ادلب.
واعتبر المبعوث الاميركي ان هذه التصرفات ستطيل من امد الصراع وتعمق معاناة الشعب السوري بحسب تعبير المبعوث الاميركي
وزعم جيفري ان الحكومة السورية وحلفائها في المنطقة يهددون استقرار المنطقة من خلال مواصلة السعي لتحقيق نصر عسكري بحسب تعبيره
مشدداً على أن السبيل الوحيد لتحقيق السلام والاستقرار للشعب السوري هو عبر تنفيذ قرار مجلس الأمن 2254
وأيّد المبعوث الأمريكي في بيانه الدعوة إلى وقف فوري لإطلاق النار على الصعيد الوطني في سوريا بموجب القرار 2254 التي نادى بها الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة أنطونيو غوتيرش والمبعوث الخاص إلى سوريا غير بيدرسن
